    I had to cut this sapling to make room for stacks in my processing area. Im pretty sure i know what it is. Whats your guess? My hand is for scale. IMG_0242.JPG

    Could either be ironwood or some sort of a white oak maybe. Sometimes it is really hard to tell with saplings. Wait until they get bigger.

    normally i pick on dem big ol defenseless trees. I actually felled it with a handsaw brenndatomu & didnt hang it up!

    Did we ever find out what type of tree? I don’t know bark as well as I know leaves, but hop hornbeam sounds reasonable.

    I thought it to be elm, but based on what ive seen on FHC i think its hop hornbeam/ironwood mrfancyplants . Sometimes its hard to get an answer, but i try!

    It certainly looks like the hop hornbeam I've got around here.

    Gasline rep told me they'd shred those up for me :jaw::jaw::jaw:, says.. "Those'll dull your chain in a heartbeat."

    I tell him.. "No problem, I can sharpen em up again."

    I'll be certain to harvest all of the ironwood that'll be affected.
