tall stacking

    Great job on the stack. Between gravity and height issues, my stacks will never be that tall.

    Good looking stack.
    A good way for those with limited space to store wood; "go vertical" ! :)

    Very cool, pyro. It would be interesting to measure how much vertical shrink it has after drying out. Some reports of 5-foot stacks losing 6" or so after the moisture drops so maybe that skyscraper could lose 9 inches in a few years?

    Well, time will tell. That thing ain't going anywhere for a couple years.

    The slabs have been..um..slabbed for a year already. Cut to length this summer. That may affect shrinkage.

    What really counts is how that stack will look next year and the year after. I left that second picture in the quote for one reason. Looking at the right hand side, that end looks a bit suspicious. Still, it is impressive that you did this. I do stack to 8' high but only in the barn. Outdoors, we stick to 4 1/2' high.
