I stopped and got a couple of fish yesterday. A firefish and a banggai cardinal. The cardinal is off swimming right away, and the firefish hid in a rock. They do that as they are shy. He'll come out eventually. I already looked this morning on the floor for the firefish. He's got to still be in the tank.
Everyone in the tank is happy, healthy and eating. I'll transfer my clown fish from the big tank to this tank. Then I can take the 200 gallon tank down.
Caught my tank raised clown fish that a friend of mine raised from a clutch of eggs. I had 2 of them from that "batch" and had them for about 10 years. One of them passed recently, so that kind of upset me. I'll have to get him/ her another clown to buddy up with. Until then, the firefish and the cardinal fish will at least be friends for him.
Well the other one was around 10 years old. I think they can live longer in captivity than in the wild. They are really protected here in people's tanks. Google says 3-6 years. But one guy has a pair for 27 years apparently.
It's an ocellaris clownfish. There's a slight difference between the percula and ocellaris clowns. Here's a "percola" clown. Lol
Rick ( the clownfish) is doing well in his new home upstairs. Next I'll get him a buddy. I need some clean up crew first. Snails, crabs, etc
Update. I last saw the firefish 3 days ago. He was eating too, so that's weird. That's no good. But the clown and the cardinal fish are doing great. I might get some live coral this weekend.
We got Rick the clown fish a mate. She's a davinci clown. The female is the dominant one in fish culture. There was some chasing and general bitchiness, but they are paired up already.
Do your dogs get on the couch? How do you keep it so nice, and dog hair free? And has the firefish made an appearance?
