    No not that kind.

Looking to add a second bar for my soon to arrive Husqvarna 562XP. Going to be manly running 20". Current bar is a techlite. Fire wood cutting so the 20" will work on the long side. What it's everyone's thoughts on next bar size. 18" or 16" or just get a another spare 20"?

Next question. Another techlite, standard Husqvarna bar or go all out and get a Sugihara? I'm open to other suggestions.

    I already have an 18 & 16" for the MS 261C-M and MS250.

    I like 60 cc and 16" :)

    I got a 16" for my 362C and ported 036 Pro. It's like a light saber in wood :)

But if your 261C has a 16", maybe you need a 24" for the occasional big stuff?

I see the point on small bars but if I'm In The woods working g up trees and such I like a 20 or 24". It keeps me from bending over slightly and having a hurt back at the end of the day. The longer near gives better reach . At 6'2" the extra length in a 20" bar or better a 24" helps when limbing trees on the ground.

Try the 20" techlite . You won't be disappointed .

I do plan to run the techlite, just looking for options on other/size bars.

Unless you are needing a short bar for cutting log piles, and you have the 261 handy, skip going short since you have the Techlite. Either get something long that will fit a bigger saw you have your eye on or call it a day. I have run a muffler modded 562 with a 28" Techlite and a wrap handle (west coast edition? ) and while it's not my style, it did do pretty well with the 28 buried. Just don't get in a hurry.

    24" would be my pick.

16" for me . But for reasons just discused in a different thread . That big bar hangin out there ......hurts me waaay worse that bending down more often . Plus the 16 inch bar seems to balance out the 550xp and 562xp just right .And........as stated above...........really brings out the performance characteristics of most saws . Good luck with your choice :)

I used the 550 yesterday with a 16". I think I'm going to go to a 20" on it very soon. The 16" runs good but I'll port it if I need to so it will pull a 20" better.

Looks like the little 550 is working out pretty good for you Mike. Does anybody do a lightweight 20" on small mount Husky? I'm thinking you would enjoy something like that.

At 6'3" I know exactly what you mean. My minimum desired is an 18" on a small saw, and that 20 & 25" on the big ones.

Tsumura has the light and tough but they're .058". I may have to make an exception and get one though when I order the 36" large mount for the 088.

Is there any advantage running .050 over .058 ? What is the advantage going either way ?

The advantage to running .050 is that its the MOST common in most places. Making chain purchases easier and most all big sales run it! So swapping bar and chain combos is easy amongst saws
