Trying to get more of this done. This Boxelder pile was bucked last year, and I just recently got at SS. There's at least enough for another 5' stack in front of this one. The pile in foreground is some Red Pine.
This pic shows several stacks I've been working on...some this year, some last year (I think there's a thread, but I can't find it). First one is Cherry, about 2' high. Just emptied the trailer that was loaded with mostly pretty crappy Red Pine. It'll probably burn like crepe paper once it dries, so it'll be used for starter fires. I need to go back out to remember what the rest is. Ok, sitting here, my memory is slowly coming back.......the next stack is Poplar, then the crappy Red Pine, then a full 1/3 cord of Birch that I SS last fall or early winter. Next is a couple feet of Red Maple (last year), then some more of the crappy Red Pine (also last year). I'll get a better pic when I go back out....maybe even move that trailer out of the way.

What memory? Those poles are "landscape timbers" from HD. They last several years before the rot gets to 'em at ground level. Thanks......I don't like stuff falling over, so I'm a bit particular. There's a stack of Poplar with about a foot of Oak on the bottom, then about 1/2 cord of Beech beyond before the stacks of Ash start. The Ash and Beech have been there since 2016-17 I think. Some maybe longer.
papadave every time I see one of your pictures I just think that looks typical for the Atlanta, MI area.
Nice row of wood dave. The little trailer looks like the one I just ordered and was wondering if you toss the wood in or set it in? Do you trust the Polly in the winter? Was gonna have it totally spray coated but they wanted twice the cash of the sale price of the trailer.
It looks like the one we got from TS a few yrs ago. We love ours. I have seen Chaz throw 28" rounds into it and he would be 3/4' away and probably 3' higher than the trailer. It would just bounce.
Pretty sure I got that at the HD. About $300, and I do both. It's the Brinley 17 cu ft model. This thing seems indestructible so far, even in the winter. Yesterday, I was almost 10' from it throwing splits in. If I stack, I can fit about 1/6 cord in it, but the sides bow some when I do that. I made some wooden rails for it, but they just get in the way loading and unloading.
Nice looking stacks and quite a lot of them too! Nice and neat... I use landscape timbers for a bunch of stuff too.. I was getting them on sale at HD for $.99 but they have gone up a buck or two since then.
Thanks Chaz/dave. Its this one and might use the old trailers tires but will just let it go for now with the ones that come with it plus have a 7/8 ball coupler in the garage that i'll replace the pin hook up with.
On sale at HD for $1.97. I put on the ball coupler to replace the pin setup too. I think I did 2" though, since everything here is that size. Got mine at the Amish hardware in Mio (about 40 minutes south) for $12. Needed to drill out a couple holes in the beam for bolts, but that was easy.
This one was a cheapo at $200 as I don't think ill be hauling from the farm for much longer. Will also bolt the tilt release as I don't know how many times I had to reload the old trailer driving back with it full?
It came in today but going back tomorrow as its a 'cute' wagon but way too small. Gonna grab one of these at Costco.
Tried bringing the site up 99 but it wont let me? $399 at the Costco site over here. A bit much but what aint anymore?
