We rented a cabin for 2 nights in the mountains near Gatlinburg for our family vacation this spring break. I had come to Gatlinburg when I was a young kid with my parents and loved it, but I think we only did this one other time and now my girls are almost all grown up.... Still fun though... Here’s a couple pics... of a fire hoarders paradise...! Firewood as far as the eye can see.... Emma, after all day walking the tourist traps along the downtown strip... she got a lot of petting!
Here’s a pic of the fireplace.... It’s electric. I’m thinking of sticking a few logs in it later tonight to enhance the experience.
Where I was, there was no evidence of fire.... cabin was not too pricy during the week... Didn’t need to pay for boarding the pooch either.
That place looks familiar... was it around about 30 years ago ?? Used to stay in a cabin a few miles out of town...
Was in the area about 6 years ago touring on our Harley...beautiful area....for sure. Glad ur having a good time
We were there for a wedding 8 years ago. Our youngest was 4 months old, so we went everywhere with a stroller. They've built cabins all over the mountains around there, with roads to get to them that are like the Mt Washington auto road. The reversal dinner was in one of the cabins, with an awesome view. This was in February, and it snowed 3 inches overnight . We were down in a hotel near the road to pigeon forge , and woke up to a beautiful view. The snow shut the town down, and everyone in the cabins was stuck until the snow melted around 10AM. If you do the cable car you get an interesting perspective on a bunch of those cabins.
I think the fall foliage would be hard to beat! Saw lots of bikes and yes, awesome place for touring... Never dare a fire bug.... No good ever good comes from this....
Yea.... your probably right.... , I wasn’t thinkin right.. I’ll try it later tonight after I get into the beer.
Looks similar to one we rented near Gatlinburg in the hills. Ours had a Jacuzzi on the porch as well.
Stayed in one of those a few years ago. One night we were on the back porch in the hot tub and had a bear at the next cabin tearing up the garbage can.
