Found this tree up on the high ridge where we have been cutting in the next county. Wonder what it is? Doesn't look like the hickories up there. IMG_20190422_100420856.jpg IMG_20190422_100520445.jpg IMG_20190422_100540507.jpg

Stumped on this one, leaf shape resembles a Tupelo aka sour gum. We have a couple at the edge of our yard and the leaves are real glossy and a lot darker green. Beautiful fall colors of coarse the leaves still have not fully come out on the trees here yet showoff. So maybe someone else can help you identify your
beautiful fully formed tree with all its leaves on it. Sorry T.Jeff sarcasm and a little jealousy seeping through. Thank you for the pics. Surely someone can be more helpful. :emb:

It's not sassafras, I don't think, haven't seen any other up there.

There is some sourwood up there, some on the front of the trailer. But this doesn't look quite like that.

Its not locust is it? Bark sort of reminds me of black locust. Not familiar with its leaves though.
Amazes me how your leaves are in full bloom. I just snapped this pic from our back steps. IMG_0169.JPG

I'm not familiar with locust either. Use to have a honey locust at the corner of my uncle's machine shop, thorns and all. It was cut down years ago. It greened up about 3 weeks ago. Hit 92° yesterday.

ive never cut nor burned locust, just going by pics ive seen on FHC. First 80*+ will make leaves explode into bloom. Did you get 290 back from huskihl yet?

Looks like a pignut hickory to me. Bark is a little rougher than what I expect around here but leaf is classic hickory.

Give it about another month and lets see if it develops any berries or fruit buds.
