I didn’t even respond yet. Not sure if this is maple or not...if so, I’m out.

No, FB marketplace In Delaware. I think red oak bark is a little smoother.

certain varieties of red oak will have a smoother bark. The way the dead limbs are attached is characteristic of red oaks around here cigarsmokingzombie

Hmmm, I’m just a paduan. The red oaks on my property look different. Hoping to be a Jedi master FHC member some day.

I hate having to post wood IDs every week :).

No big deal cigarsmokingzombie we're never too old too learn. Ive learned a bunch in just over two months on FHC. Not only tree ID, saws, tools wood storage etc. If we become Jedi masters can we use a lightsaber to fell a tree? That would be cool!

I dont think its any type of maple if thats any compensation cigarsmokingzombie . Is this score for the weekend? I have a big score to cut, but too busy with life...you know how that goes. Plus its warming up and my desire to make firewood lessens as the temperature increases. IMG_4395.JPG

Yeah weekend score. I’m still in hoarding mode. My pile is getting massive. I actually would have taken a half day for that beech score because I’m such a hoarder. I just like the workout though :(. It nice biking 30 miles then hoarding a cord. Great calorie burn.

Only problem is I follow that with a cigar and 6 beers.

when you bring a load home will you split and stack right away or just keep getting rounds/logs until a goal is met?
I enjoy the workout too, but really dislike the warmer weather. I go rather manic when hoarding. Plus ive had some sort of sciatica since mid January and am finally getting MRI Monday. It doesnt help my hoarding for sure.
