    Tried in vain today to split 6 large 16-20“dia x 20" chunk of twisted ash trunks. Even tried a maul and an 8 lb sledge and acorn... No dice. Dreading having to noodle them...

    Went back this afternoon and lubed the splitter blade. Bam. That did the trick... A little synthetic grease on the blade and the base around the blade, working great!

    Psa: While lube is recommended and desirable, overdoing the application of lubrication can be disastrous as well. Use with caution. :smoke:
