You both did. That's a great saw. By far my favorite (but mine came with extra bananas...)

Yep you both got a steal!! One of the great overall saws. Buy quality chains for it ;)

I personally run full chisel on everything. Stihl or Carlton are my favorites but I never did any comparisons with Husky/Oregon in the 3/8”s category. Came to my conclusions using .325
Go to someplace like Baileys and buy a few different loops for it. You’ll have a favorite by the time your done.

I know, thus the screen shot. Glad I grabbed it before he pulled it after the sale. Didn't think about til after I got home. Sandhillbillys saw is a bit cleaner than mine
Most of my chain is Stihl RS, although I bought several loops of Oregon LGX when someone here posted a link to a sale around Labor Day a year and a half ago. I prefer Stihl but would buy more of the Oregon at the price I paid then. I think it was in the $13/loop if I remember correctly.

I wouldnt blame you. Oregon just seems to stretch forever. A thinner kerf exacerbates bar binding. Narrower overall teeth help cuts run crooked if the chain gets a little dull IMO. Absolutely no scientific evidence to back that up. Just the warped inner workings of my mind. I’ll use em if I got em. LOL

The 372XP is one of Huskys iconic saws, They are great runners, but they need to straighten out the handle bar like a Stihl or Jonsereds. That angled bar hurts my wrist after a bit. They are easy to work on and parts are everywhere. Open that muffler and let that epa choked thing breath. Then send it out to get ported, they are complete animals once ported. I have the MS440 Stihl equivalent, it didn't much care for an 8 pin on a 25" before Kevin fed it some sausage, but it don't care anymore.

Got a chance to run my new (to me) 372 this evening. I now see why they are so popular and sought after. It was like the saw was mad at the logs!!! I leaned on it pretty hard in some elm logs and couldn’t make it bog down. My new 562 won’t do that. The idle needs set up a bit, but otherwise I was super impressed. I wish I had another one just like it & two more arms So I could run em both at once. Seriously it was that much fun!!:rootintootin:

    I run a 24 or 28" most of the time on my 372. My 562 wears a 20" 95% of the time.

I found a set of OEM big Dogs and a full wrap handle on clearance from Baileys a year or so ago for about $30? if my memory serves (probably not right but it was cheap). I typically only use this saw when I have really big wood as the 562 is a lot lighter and more comfortable, but when I start this saw up with a muffler mod, it is a beast, definitely big enough for my needs.

My apologies folks. I neglected to post a picture of her once she showed up.

So there was one issue that was quickly addressed. I had to replace the brake handle $20 OEM from my local dealer.

I dressed her in a 25 in Oregon brand, Stihl configutation bar, and full comp Oregon semi-chisle. I am using one of the bar adapters for Husqvarna to be able to use the Stihl bar. Yes, there is a little grinding involved to lengthen the slot. That way I can swap this 25, the 20, or the 16 that I have for my ms361 back and forth.

I have only bucked a few rounds of 22" diameter Red Oak and she runs like a raped ape!

And no, none of the other saws are for sale. :emb:

I got the same dog & wrap kit from baileys for my 562 ($34 I think). I bought a 28” Sugi bar for it also as soon as I got it, but it seems like it’s a bit to much bar. It does fine with the 24” that came on it. So the 28”& 24” will be for the 372. And planning to get a 20” ( probably another sugi hara) for the 562 to wear most of the time. This past winter I had to leave 2 large elm trunks standing as they were to big for my saw at the time. Now with 2 new saws,...THERE SHALL BE NO WOOD LEFT BEHIND.:BrianK:

Still waiting on the 372, but this one popped and I couldn’t pass.
