Pulled the doors off the back of the shed and started tossing this afternoon. Not before getting the birds eye view. Slowly, slowly...catch a monkey. Got about 3/4 of one row stacked. Shed holds a tad over 6 cord.
I like your shed, how you, or whoever built it, took the time to do that joinery. That’s a lot of nice wood to stack, admire, and burn!
Nice shed & stack M2theB Kind of a slacker here, went to my buddies this afternoon and grabbed the splitter, but put up less than 1/3 cord. But, I did enjoy the day.
I beat the chit out of a Husky 353 milling some of that, the headers and major ties. The posts are 6X6 hemlock I bought and the 2 by’s are hemlock. The joinery I did with the 353. ( it’s been reborn with a 346 top).
Isn't it...slowly slowly catch a mouse? From agatha Christie? I'm moving wood too... A to b. B to c. C to a.....
I got it from BBC, Monarch of the Glen, about 15 years ago. Never questioned it. Something else to do tomorrow! Good question!
I love the weathered gray patina on the posts and beams...great rustic look. Quite the mound of splits. Is it enough to fill the shed M2theB
It better be I’ll be disappointed. Depending on how I estimate the volume there’s somewhere between plenty and more than enough.
Good on you stacking now. It seems like the majority on here does not like the stacking of the wood. To me, it is just one more part of the whole wood making project. Something that has to be done so do it, do it good and get it over with.
I like to have it in the shed as soon as I’ve come close to taking wood out for the season to take advantage of “the summer bake”. It’s often 10 to 15 F warmer in the shed than the ambient. And of course it also keeps it drier longer.
Hey M2theB ....looks like you got the jump....I was recalling "Murder Ahoy" starring Margaret Rutherford and the scene in the hold of the ship....BBC rocks!
Sneaking up on it! Someone here, forgive me for not remembering who, set a goal to be stacked by Memorial Day. Great goal and I’ve borrowed it.
