I'm gearing up for the festivities too! The latest projections today by most of the "experts" have the Browns taking either Watkins or Evans (WRs) at #4, and the "free falling" Teddy Bridgewater at #26 (Supposedly Farmers #1 QB choice all along). Carr will probably be gone before #26. Frankly, I hope we trade away some lower picks to move up. We have 10 picks, and as bad as the Browns have been overall, there is no way we are going to keep 10 new rookies on our 53 man roster. Go for about 6-7 new key players trading away 3-4 picks to move up in rounds 1-3. WR, QB, CB, OG/RT, ILB, S. If we take 7 players or more, don't be surprised if there is the top Kicker of the draft in there. If we don't take a QB at #4 and want Manziel (assuming he does not go early) we will have to probably move up from 26 to at least 15. Rumor has it that the Cowboys will take him at 16 if he is still there. Jerry wants him. Teams at 11, 17, and 18 are rumored to want more picks and will move down so they are possible trading partners. A move up to 17 or 18 should get us Carr. Folks at 20/22 might take him there.
? ? ? More rumors here, reports have it the Browns are talking to everyone about trading down as well as up in the 1st round. Down from #4 and up from #26 and maybe even #35 to have 3 first rounders!!! Is it 8:00 yet?
More rumors, Brown's still interested in backup QB Kirk Cousins trying to work a deal with Washington for a mid-level pick. #6 Falcons trying to work a deal with Browns to move up to #4 to take LB Khalil Mack (ahead of Oakland at #5) if he is still there.
Houston takes Jadeveon Clowney, DE, as expected. The Rams are on the clock! (The Browns Draft HQ at Radio City, NY)
The Browns trade down to the Bills!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are #9 now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy Chit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Browns get the Bills #9, plus the Bills #1 and #4 next year!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bills take Sammy Watkins, WR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Khalil Mack, OLB, goes to Oakland, Jake Matthews, T, goes to the Falcons, Mike Evans, WR, goes to Tampa Bay
Vikings trade down to the Browns, they take Gilbert, oh man, they go CB!!! Considered by some to be only the 4th best CB, to run opposite Haden! He is considered by many others to have the highest potential though, most of the SBNation folks are chiming in that they considered him the best CB and #13 player on the charts? http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2014/5/8/5644774/nfl-draft-results-2014-justin-gilbert-browns I don't know about this!!!!!!! What the heck did they pay to move up 1 spot and take him, the Vikings for sure weren't going to take him. I can't believe this .............. they gave up a 5th. Edit: Detroit was also talking to Minnesota about moving up. We probably had no choice but cough up the 5th, ok, I can by that.
For you Bills fans, I love this guys post on SBNtion: "Hate this pick if you want, but think through the front office’s thinking. Next year, with Hundley, Winston and Mariota all coming out, the Browns will have the ammo to move up and take a true franchise QB, somebody in Luck’s league. If the Bills have a bad year in 2014, they might not HAVE to move up." by Bob Veres on May 8, 2014 | 9:31 PM love it
With the 22 pick, the Browns trade up from #26 to take Johnny Manziel. This is crazy, love it. Whether you like him or not, and for the record, I really didn't like Manziel. But its irrelevant now, he is the new "face" of the Browns. He will hopefully sit behind Hoyer and build and learn for at least a little bit, it could work out great. If not, we have two #1 again next year! We traded Richardson for Manziel. GO BROWNS Edit - not bad, we only gave up one of our two 3rd rounders to move up 4 places.
I am happy that the Browns are being aggressive but hate the Manziel pick. The Bills, I am floored. It is such a great pick that I am hoping they stay in Buffalo.
