    Tricky, I don't have cash, so the only loan I could get would be combo home/land purchase, so I'd need to do a modular adding $100K. Have a call out to the listing agent, her name is familiar, might be the same lady that WWW bought this house through (I did it from Colorado via Power of Attorney). I cannot help but take your suggestion seriously. Just need to find out the covenants. Also if there are plows in the winter.

    I think their number is out of line for just property. Anybody that can afford that would want to put a very big house there. But..... if they have that kind of money they will buy a larger parcel. My .02

    I'm officially unemployed for the next week. First time since 14 years old. I guess I'll get a little taste of the retired life.

    Yeah but it's still an improved building lot, and building Lots here hold their value very well. because most people would rather build a new house, then rehab 150 year old house.

    Called the realtor again, as I suspected since it's an upscale neighborhood, modulars are not permitted.

    Edit, realtor sent covenants, new stick build only, min 1500 sq ft. Around $225,ooo for that out here, and also a septic system. Beyond my budget.

    Idk papadave and yooperdave, he works on things after work and on the weekends I've noticed, not sure he knows how to pretend he's retired. Who wants to wager with me on if he has a new project next week? Or a last minute family vacation? I have $10 cyber dollars on project started and completed. You two in?

    Some peoples kids!

    My former partner has taken retirement years ago. He's 77 or 78 now. He has been back to work off and on as he gets bored (I guess) and likes working for pay.

    Me, on the other hand, have learned to relax and couldn't wait to get out of the trades! Doing what I want to, when I want to, where I want to, how I want to and not having to explain why I want to is the best!

    Heck, I may even have another retirement celebration this evening! Its coming up on 2 years now....:rootintootin::rootintootin::rootintootin::rootintootin::rootintootin:

    :confused:

    All you can do is be there for her when she needs, and love her completely.

    Chazsbetterhalf is a "touch" older than I am (16 yrs), and it seems we've also gotten into the habit of accumulating health issues over the past few years.
    :doh::loco: :crazy:

    Time isn't kind, which is why we have to enjoy what we can, when we can, while we can.

    As others stated, reach out when needed.

    That must be hard to deal with. My grandfather went thru the mini strokes for several years and my grandmother took care of him. Thankfully, he was retired and got union benefits plus SS, so at least the income was still there. I know it must frustrate the heck out of her not to be able to express what she is trying to say along with all the other issues. It can be very tough on the care givers, so of course, please come on here and vent as much as you are willing to. We are here for support.
