I never saw over 36F today with snow, sleet and rain. Very windy also. Brrr. Stove is running on Pine. Looks like few more days of chilly temps. Monday was 75F. Tuesday was high 60's. What a roller coaster!
Started snowing here just after noon. We got maybe 2 inches. Roads were a bit slushy on the drive in for Lenten services but the roads were just wet by the time I headed home. We should be getting a bit of rain between now and Friday.
Supposedly officially got up to 47ºF here today but with no sun and a slight breeze it sure didn't feel like it. Pine in the stove until almost noon and then another pine fire at 4PM. A couple of maple splits at 7:30. That might be it for this year as it is supposed to warm up after tonight. Never know though. It could still snow.
5:05 AM. 36F and windy..... Again. Odd. 2nd day in a row. The big "bomb" storm is scratching slowly along causing rain and very high winds for me. 35-50 mph gusts that are surely littering my yard with the same thing that's in my stove. Pine. We are on the south edge of this storm. Its worth keeping a eye on if its heading your way. No joke. On another note. My lawn is green and growing. Time to get the mower un-stored
25 and 78, just reloaded with KD and bricks. Supposed to be in the 50’s the next 3-4 days and into the 60’s on Saturday. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. It’s about time for a little spring.
30 now but no snow overnight so that is good. I'll have to check the bread and milk amounts since we are now under a storm warning ! 6" today and more for tonight. Temps will be falling throughout the day as we have already hit the high. Total from storm shouldn't be much over 12".
26* and blizzard conditions. About 4-6 inches of snow. Not near as much as they were forecasting but supposed to keep it up most of the day. I thought I was done burning, went about a week without a fire . Elm in the stove. I’m glad I found you people to motivate me, nice to be able to say “oh, there’s a blizzard coming” then just go in the backyard throw back a tarp & tadaa dry wood
Forecast is for 1-3" of snow, and some sleet, followed by a light coating of ice. Supposed to go somewhere with my brother today........hoping he cancels. Forgot....the snow started about 8:30. We're at 29 going to 33, but tomorrow might hit 54 so the snow won't hang around long. Been letting the furnace handle the heating duties, and I'll leave it at that until this afternoon/evening.
Rain/sleet/snow here. About 3” if mix in the ground and a couple more expected. Could be way worse just a few miles north the are measuring in feet not inches. I’m actually getting tired of burning! Oh well couple more days of 24-7 and should be done.
Got down to 28ºF overnite and the stove was still warm this morning . The cold didn't last long. Had a pine fire as it was 41ºF at 6:30 but probably could have gone without as the sun is out and now it is a bit too warm in here. Solar gain should carry the rest of the day even though the forecast high is only 48ºF.
We had lightning and thunder overnight and again this morning along with high winds and a lot of sleet. I hope it gets up to 40 today.
About 2 hours ago, the upper winds were screaming. Just a hollering! Sounded like jets running around on maneuvers. Anyway, the snow has been falling steadily increasing for almost an hour now. Lighting a fire in the basement stove to continue drying out the "sump pump incident" from yesterday.
Lit a fire a while ago, and it's nice and comfy in here now. Brother cancelled, so imma rest mah back. A bit too much firewood processing yesterday, and all I did was about 1/3 of a 1/3 of a cord. Pitiful.
I think the wind may be coming your way yet BWS. We are in the midst of storm winds now, with gusts to 53mph, thunder and sleet. We had 6-8" of snow overnight. I refuse to shovel and use the snowblower anymore this spring! Mid fifties by mid-week.
