Good morning all. I havent posted in awhile so thought I would check in. Its 2c/35f with a bit of sleet going on. My spruce fire from last night is out but the firebox is still warm. I might make another fire this morning while I still have a nice warm firebox. Most of the snow is gone from my yard so yard clean up has been progressing nicely. I bought a new bar for my chainsaw so I might do my first scrounge of the year tomorrow now that the valley snow has receded enough to get into the bush.

A beautiful day here. But we just lost the sunshine. This morning was absolutely beautiful. Temperature is right around 60. Nice for working outdoors. Had lots of sand hill cranes flying over this morning and several circling.

    Stove is cold.
    Forecast was for 57ºF
    It's 71ºF right now.
Was cutting pine to get to some golden birch that was underneath. Out of gas.

    Beautiful day. *67 outside*62.inside.
I just may be burning into July. :faint: My 92 year old mother moved in last summer. Her chair is right beside the stove and she froze all winter. She is in her chair covered up and cold today. Set a small fire.
Edit: Don't know what happen with the attach file I can't or don't know how to get rid of.

Topped out at 54 here this afternoon after a dreary morning. Last night's inch of snow is gone, so that's nice. Back yard is almost clear, and there are even a few places where I can walk without sinking. Almost time to get started on this year's wood project #1; covered storage.

7am white pine fire kept the house 70+ all day, think it'll be more of the same this evening. In fact, I'm sure of it because that's all I have inside. :)

32 here this AM, it is supposed to warm right up to near 65. Just a small little fire now for a couple hours to drive out the chill.

37° here, I'll probably start a temporary fire, but it's headed back to 60° today. I'll spend it outside, rain for the next 2 days.
I've been working on splitting and stacking all the oak I got over the winter, about a cord each of red and white. Pretty soon I'll run out of cool weather. 50's is a perfect temp for me, I wish it would last longer, kind of dreading those spikes up into the 80's.

    40. Woke up to rain and thunder at 4:00 this morning. This is a steady rain and it'll really knock down the snow pack! :salute:

I'm predicted robins within the next couple of days due to the bare ground available after the rain!

35 and headed for the 50’s again today. Finally able to do a little work getting the garden ready yesterday. Part of it is still snow covered but the ground is thawed in other parts. The stove hasn’t gone out yet but it was close yesterday evening. Still need an overnight fire and a morning boost, especially with more snow coming tomorrow. Just a few more days and it’ll be 6 months of steady burning.

50 OAT going to 62. No fire for a couple days. Might have one Tues. night, maybe Wednesday as the temp will drop. Trying to not use any more of the Oak in the shed, since I have no more of that and don't know when I'll get more.
Furnace just isn't the same.:(

The snow in the yard is starting to give way. Probably pushing 20% exposed ground now. Only thing is, ground is still frozen and all the melting snow/rain is puddling on top!

Ground is so saturated it moves when I walk on it. Very weird.
Lots of meltage goin' on, but not where I need it to melt.....behind the pole barn so I can get the tractor and splitter out and start bustin' up rounds.

Got into the 50s today, boy was it nice! Dogs out, Dawn did some taking, I did some work on the tractor and some grading. Kubotas at play. Er, I mean work!

Low 30s overnight with 3"-6" through tomorrow night. We don't expect it to stick around long. No wood burning!
