I do believe it was the ash pan door gasket that was the issue. I agree, that door doesn't get opened as often as the fire box door, but over 10 years? I would try it.

Unloading and packing in a couple ton of pellets is a real workout.

When we burned a lot more pellets we tossed them on a 4 wheel cart and rolled them into the basement and stacked them up.
A lot of handling for sure....

Ya get warm several times when ya use pellet stoves...no matter what you feed them...

Had an informative visit with Tony Woods the other day. Wood & Sons have only been producing pellets since January of this year. The family has been in the mill business for many years, and as the paper mills have declined they started looking for a new business. I'm hearing good things about them, so I jumped in for a couple loads to start. Early buy $285 per ton

First load arrives Monday, mostly because my trucker has a pickup local to me. I believe it will be a pellet that rivals Vermonts and EZBlaze softies. If you have already burned these, let me know what you think.

This morning we are off to run errands and such AND getting the sheet metal for the hopper on Munchy is on the list.

This material gets things to the final phase of the build.

    Actually very little left now.
The weather has deteriorated badly and this is going to limit my outside work time.

The layout of my basement shop does not allow welding in there....gotta do it outside..
Too many places a hot spark could land and possibly start a fire

A couple hours of no rain and I can wrap this bad boy up..

Need to wire up the Power switch and the motor... a minor detail...

    Getting close

Took the truck in to be inspected this morning and have the tires changed over to summer tires. They changed the tires, but the truck needs some work on the rear upper control arm and bushings so I'll take it back in a couple of weeks. Got home and moved the last of the pellets from the garage to the basement. 64 bags of original Oakie Golds will be burning soon - well, hopefully only a portion of them get burned. Swept out the garage. Cleaned out the shed and put some stuff out to the curb for anyone who was interested in freebies.

Got a call and had to run up to Concord to take care of some business. By the time I got home only one thing was left at the side of the road. Go figure, it is the only thing out there that didn't need work and wasn't pretty beat/rusty - a gas grill (I bought it from CL for $50 spring 2014 and it has been a shed queen since then). I even put notes on the other stuff about what was wrong with them and those went first :loco: .

Finally got to eat some lunch - several hours late then decided it was a good time for a nap. Now just waiting for the rain/mix/snow to arrive.
