Came across a decent sized pile of wood today on my way home. Looks like it has been sitting there for a little while. Thought it looks like Cottonwood, but I thought I would get opinions from the forum. What do you guys think? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It looks like the rounds I picked up with my neighbor last year. There was a dark brown stringy layer under the heavy bark. It was very light in weight for the size of the rounds.
Didn’t pick it up. Once I looked at it I figured it was probably Cottonwood. There might be a mix of a few other things in there but the vast majority of the pile was the Cottonwood Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Third picture still cottonwood. Hickory has thicker bark and doesn't check that bad. Just from one of the younger limbs.
