I set my wood shed up so I'd be burning premo wood in the harsh of winter. But I changed my door gasket begining of 18/19 heat season. so I've burned half as much wood as the last few years throwing my calculations off. So here we are in April and I'm burning mulberry, honey locust, and black locust css in spring of 2015.
Good problem to have! As long as you can control the heat.. Which should be easier with that nice new gasket.
It's usually the weather that messes up my calcs. Like Ctwoodtick said, musta been a good sized leak, eh?
You wouldnt think a poor door seal would have that much of an impact but obviously it does. How hard would it be to get the shoulder wood Breechlock1 ?
Yeah I think it was super bad. I was only 3-4 hr burn times. I'm 6-8 now. Though my youngest can now put blankets on herself so we've been keeping the house 70 instead of 72-4. I'd bet the consumption is 60-40 gasket-temp
I recently broke the glass in my stove so had to replace the glass and gasket. The difference in heat output was amazing. Maybe its time to change the door gasket.
I am sure if this is bothering you to much a fellow local wood Hoarder will be happy and haul it off so you can get back to a place in your shed you figured on...Just saying
Out of the four tasks involved in making firewood, stacking is my least favorite Breechlock1 and the one and the one that sometimes doesnt get done and wood stays in mounds. Sometimes my temporary stack ends up being my permanent!
For sure gaskets need to be changed every so often. Looks like I'll be doing some of that again this summer. But as for the problem, that sounds like a problem that is not a problem! Nice.
