So now that the Dolmar is gone.....Ive been thinking about what to get next . Im always 50cc and down . Ive really taken a liking to my GF's 550xp . I was thinking of getting one..but that would be boring :( So..Ive been studying..holding saws..watching YouTube Vids to try and narrow it down . Way more wood gets cut with a 550xp in the hands...thats all I know !!! Everything else thats in the lower 50cc range just doesnt deliver . That saw to me..is in a class of its own . I would like to stay Auto Tune . So I went down to the local Jonsered dealer to grab a 2253 and see what it felt like . Runnng Husky's my whole life.....the Jonsered felt "different".......but I could get use to it quickly Im sure . Its a sexy saw...thats for sure . Thought Id go with the 16 inch bar too . If I do...I will give Terry a call first .What do you guys think ? Its basically a 550xp with different handle right ?

Curious...why don't you like a little more horsepower for some of the bigger work you run into?

I dont run into bigger work ! I only go after trees a certain size . Leave the bigger stuff to somone else . Ive been using 14 to 16 inch bars for over 10 years......and Ive never had to hop over the log and finish the cut :) Guess Im spoiled :)

Got it. I take what I can get and sometimes they are massive. Sounds good.

Gonna be a MS241C-M at the G2G. Might want to wait and try that one out. Lighter than the 550XP.....

I wonder if anybody could work their magic to get a 543XP to the G2G? We've already got a MS241C-M, we need a challenger!

I actually looked at a 543xp today. Its crazy light and easy to handle..... But I talked to Terry today. He will sell me a 2253 for cheaper than a 543xp. A little heavier... But more power. Decisions decisions :). Im looking forward to trying a Stihl at the Gtg !

The 2152 is the equivalent of the Husqvarna 353 no? Old platform, I dunno if that bothers you or not tho.

I no longer heat with wood so my saws are strictly for recreational purposes. My tastes are running to the larger cc GTG saws. I have no desire to buy a new saw of a any displacement.

I thought that's what all those hot earthquakes everyone has been working on were for?

Have both the 241 and 2253. For firewood cutting it would be an easy choice for me - sexy red 2253.
