He had an awesome birthday. Thanks everyone! New toys and birthday cake and lots of playing. 20190330_195957.jpg That's my wife's special doggy birthday cake. I suppose it's edible for humans, but it's probably not sweet.

Naw, no meat. It uses flour, shredded carrots ( I helped with a grater, not anything like the wife when she has the Cuisinart and it takes seconds), honey, and the frosting is whipped cream cheese.

I'm sure many hoarders would eat this without even knowing it is a doggy cake. 20190330_200201.jpg

Yesterday was interesting at work. A guy tried on a belt, it got stuck and my coworker had to cut it off with a pair of scissors

And later in the evening towards closing, apparently a guy came in and got served with a lit cigarette in his hand.....

Today, the tanker is coming in while I'm at work :BrianK:

    Getting pretty late here, already.

I was thinking some pork sausage, eggs, toast, red potato hash browns, coffee, orange juice.....but someone isn't moving very fast!

Well, could take her out to eat again!

Looks like almost flood waters. Here everything is so dry that we are having to water parts of the garden to keep things alive. Fish streams are drying up and it is hatching season coming.

Had a really nice visit with jdude and his son yesterday. We'll get together again soon...at our spring GTG.

Rain most of day yesterday and mixed with snow in afternoon. Ground white this morning but has melted now. Breezy and cold outside.

Almost out of firewood. But I have decided I’m not ready to stop burning yet.So I’m splitting up some Ash that I’ve had bucked up for quite a few months now. It will get a little drying time next to the boiler and then will go in on a hot bed of coals.

First time I’ve used the new trailer. It can hold a good bit of firewood!

Why no covers on the unused meter bases?

There are covers. See through plastic. Utility company did it the way they wanted to. Been like that for a long time now.

Cool! I could see myself leaning a metal handled broom in one of them. Had a friend killed by electric. Blew both of his arms off up to the elbow.

Buying jeans is a PITA. Remember BCB looking for jeans and all the store carried was young men's skinny fashion jeans (opposed to work jeans)? It's not any easier for women. 2/3 of them are "ankle length" which to most of here at FHC look like floods (nope, i'm talking about capris). Of the 1/3 that are the length we are accustomed to, most of them have a low waist line. Hello! I want the darn fly on or above my belly button like in the past! Not willing to wrestle with the tight ankles on skinny jeans to disrobe. Even the conservative looking ones I found have some "distressing" on them. My grandparents would gasp if they were alive. Did you find some real jeans BCB ?

Of all the jeans I have bought LL Bean were my favorites. They fit like a glove out of the package. Then I got fat and went to bibs. Now that I have lost nearly 60 lbs I may go back. Just gotta make sure I keep it off.

I’m not sure on the history of the pattern, my barn is early 1910’s. My house is 1840’s.

Colonial period in my mind would be anything before 1776. Pennsylvania Dutch would be my guess as well, they were here very early and had/have a strong presence in SE Pennsylvania. They usually did a pretty good job at keeping records. I know the Amish (penn Dutch background) around me publish a book every year with the names of every member, birth date, address, children, etc.

Waaaaaaaay too muddy to wheelbarrow split wood to the stacks. I moved 1 face cord and destroyed the yard. So I'm splitting on the driveway and tossing it aside until it dries out some. 4 face cords in so far. Stopped for a beer and some late lunch.

Inseam and waist is the way to go.
Woman's sizes 12, 14, 5, etc. means nothing to us men and we can't relate. That is the reason my wife doesn't get any clothes as presents.
