    I have no idea but I'm gonna say Bigtooth aspen, just because I think Bigtooth aspen sounds cool and I like saying it.

    Not dogwood but that is in my top 3 favorite woods to burn.
    Had to look up bigtooth aspen. it does grow around here but i have never cut any so that's not it. it does sound cool.

    It did remind me of that when i split it and just as heavy as green mulberry but thats not it.

    I have some, supposedly, Kentucky coffee wood I've been burning a bit of this year. I'm still convinced it's honey locust despite the guy who gave it to me being totally adamant of it being coffee wood :whistle:
