Well had a day off Monday, so what's a hoarder to do when the sun is shinin' and the saw and tractor cranked??
We went back logging. Managed to get 2 loads out and hauled home. Still have probably 1 more load up there. Here's a few pictures to prove we didn't go fishing...:dex::dex:

Nice red oak we got first IMG_20190327_031242.jpg
Found this older white oak IMG_20190327_031356.jpg Still have to get the rest of the top. Still has a good solid heart in it. IMG_20190327_031527.jpg
We found this old log, all bark and sapwood was gone. Cut into it, ahh, the wonderful smell of white oak.
    IMG_20190327_031647.jpg
The first load, bucked 6' long, easier to get up the road through the woods. IMG_20190327_032101.jpg IMG_20190327_032147.jpg
Second load of the day, had some smaller logs bucked 9 & 10 1/2'. Was able to thread my way out thru the trees with them. IMG_20190327_032502.jpg
    IMG_20190327_032339.jpg
A few pictures from the top of the ridge, rock outcroppings and hillside. IMG_20190327_031930.jpg IMG_20190327_032659.jpg IMG_20190327_032627.jpg

You are surely doing a great job cleaning up that area! Great that you could get the trailer up there this time. I love old oak with the bark off, I find it at the dump now and then.

Sounds good. Just don’t do it in the middle of a southern summer :)
Wish I had gotten the barn doors on my trailer. Much better for wood gathering.

Aw, c'mon, August to Labor Day, we would be like the rich folks going to the resort..beautiful scenery, plenty of exercise, free sauna, catered meals, sweet tea...even have shade trees and fans for break time...for relaxation, we will even open up the pool, nice 90°water to soothe the sore muscles...:whistle::D:handshake::banana::banana:...

On a serious note, this will be our first GTG at Dennis's. I'll see how it's done, and if I can get things worked out, maybe have one in the future. Would just need to know when it would work best for everyone...

Well the MAN thought he had me, gonna slow us down, putting me on 12 hr shift rotation. So what does a hoarder do...ya buck some up one day and split it the next. Had a big box full of rounds and the loaded the rest on my truck. Got my work light hooked up next to the splitter. We started about 7:45 and finished about 9:50 last night. Might stack it tonight. Turned out some nice red and post oak. IMG_20190329_071852500.jpg IMG_20190402_211116593.jpg IMG_20190402_215228315.jpg IMG_20190402_211356117.jpg

Got to do an update...much hunny just sent me a couple pics, said her chores were done and she was gonna rest. 6099.jpeg She cut and trimmed the grass at our old wood shop.

    6110.jpeg
Stacked the wood we split last night

    6111.jpeg
And then planted new flowers in her beauty spot. She's working for a steak supper, I guess.

I'm envious now. We don't even have pansies in the stores yet. Nice stacking job!

Got 1 big trailer load, thought we would be finished up there. My ol' eyes spotted a few standing dead trees. Land owner said get them. 2 hickories and one oak. I had time to drop the hickories, both still solid. I'll check the oak when we go back.

Well, we had a busy day, my hunny was on the mower and trimmer for a couple hours, I was on our tractor, starting to mow a big pasture. When she finished with the mower, she got on our tractor and I drove the other tractor, the lady we help has a small JD, had both running for another 3 1/2 hrs with 5' mowers. I wanted to relax a little at the wood pile when we finished. Got a little more split.
Best of both worlds, vertical and horizontal. Since I don't noodle, I'm using to older splitter to halve or quarter the big rounds and then the fast new splitter to finish them up.

We split the small pile yesterday, keeping the fans running... IMG_20190515_185746838.jpg
Made a good dent in the pile of rounds IMG_20190515_205140543.jpg
Got to find a little time to stack now, still got a ways to go to fill up the shed.

You two are amazing, it boggles my mind how much work you can get done. Are the days longer in Georgia? I guess you make them longer, I'm all done by 4P and you're on to a new task.
