I’ve learned he has 3 farms and is always clearing. Today was the first day I went out to one of his properties and this was laid out in a field for me. Not much but there was a pickup load of locust! All I have to do is cut logs and haul. Seeing lots of potential.

Great score!! What about brush?? Most farmers here are super busy when snow melts.. Brush if not seen does:makeitrain" damage to implements.

Good question. He has told me multiple times he has a cleanup crew and I can just cut away. One of my former students takes care of his horses and she must have put in a good word on my behalf because he’s been very kind to me

Nice hookup jrider , sure beats handling the 3-4' monsters we've been cutting lately. Sounds like you may have a real sweet deal there.

5FD91023-A14D-4205-8563-28254B64D961.jpeg The landowner was in a hurry to get it cleaned up so I went over there after work today and got the rest out. A little bit of cherry on the back of the truck along with some dreaded gum but I’m not going to be picky this early in the game with this guy. Got this cut and loaded in an hour and 45 minutes. Weather was great - upper 40’s sunny with a breeze.

Nice job on the wood jrider! Pleasant and touching that as we get older, younger folks that we have taught or mentored can become our staunch advocates! You must be a good teacher and left a positive impression on your former student! Good on you my friend!

Tops already cut off and burned/chipped. Nice.
The last farm that was silage corn near me did the same. Spring ritual cleaning all the fall downs at the edge of the field(s). Burn the tops and give away the trunks. There would be a long list of people who said they wanted it but were no shows. The people who wanted the logs were often other farmers and Spring is a bad/very busy time for farmers. Too many small windows of opportunity for no-shows. Probably needed the logs out of the way yesterday.

He told me they would be cleaned up by Saturday. It's a busy time of year for me as well since my kids started spring sports and I cut at other locations but I made sure to make it happen so the guy knows I mean business.
