She feels great! Well, her hand isn't bad and she says it really hasn't hurt much so all is well. Some of the black and blue has gone.

As for the weather, we are to the point now that 30's feel cold...if there is a wind. Yet a few mornings ago it was 18 when I got up and didn't feel all that bad. Still wind and humidity have a lot to do with how the air feels. I see one day of 60 forecast for us this coming week and hope they are right. That would feel great. Supposed to hit 50 today too but not much sun. I've been lazy so far today but that usually happens on Sundays here.

Beautiful day out today - not good for working with the mud and melting snow on top of it, but got a little wood brought in and had plenty of fun with mini-me stomping around in the mud puddles. :)

Rope, looks like a great trip! Must be hard to focus on the task at hand sometimes with the amazing scenery all over.

It sure is, where we were ice fishing it is breath taking. It’s a place only easy to get to by snow machine, pretty close to 100% of the visitors to the Park will never see. Just looking around puts things into prospective, just how lucky we are. Here is a few more.

We’re in for a couple cool days then a late week warmup into the 50’s hopefully. We still have a lot of snow to melt and it’s a lot worse further north.
Taken on March 15th and just this morning, March 25th...

    Another surprise from the weatherman.

Sitting at 4 here! Heading for the mid to upper 30's with sun so that'll knock down some more of the snowpack!

Sitting at -13 c or 9 f right now, must be the coldest morning in 7-10 days. Oh well, pretty easy to stay toasty here in anything that March can throw at us.

Right at 48 inches, I forgot my extension and had a few holes I didn’t reach water.

I was wondering that to. Ive never fished ice that thick, the most for me is about 28-32 inches. Can it take a good kicking with the sun and above freezing before its unsafe to fish on? Around here it can as long as its not above freezing for a long period. My favorite lake tends to have solid ice on it but will melt out from the shore in the shallows like most lakes.

With permafrost we keep the ice for a bit. The shores is where we start having a problem. I just the ice off the hardness, I don't like a soft top ice thicker than 6 inches and I want 12 inches of hard ice.

    Thanks for the pics, Rope!

Topped out at 40 here today, but plenty of sun to keep the melt going. Melt is pretty much over in town, and my field is getting pretty bare where it gets full sun. Backyard is another story. Spent the nice afternoon shoveling drainage again.. Summer project number one, install perforated pipe to stop this madness!

Pine for a quick afternoon load, ash and Sugar maple overnight, expecting teens. According to the guessers, tomorrow night is the last of the teens until the ten day forecast runs out.. We'll see!

Great pics Rope, and Well Seasoned , 29* here now and dropping to the the low 20's. Boxelder and Sugar drying clothes on the racks by the stove as we do everyday. Soon the racks will dry on the deck in full sun. We have lost most of our snow as of late but the ground is saturated and muddy. I plan to get cutting next week with some schedueled days off.
