Is there a wood tax? Man, this Mullberry is as heavy as Osage. I told the guy I’m done after this load. I almost blew my suspension. He has about 4 chords left. I scored about 2.5. I had to put the Phalic symbol in the middle.

Hah, yes, I had 2 buddy’s with Rams who both got stuck in the mud. I didn’t get stuck because I avoided the mud. Duh.

cigarsmokingzombie, You my friend have Viking blood flowing through your veins. Your excitement is the feeling Vikings experienced when raiding the coast of Europe. Plundering is a natural human instinct that we as men, have developed over the ages so, my fellow warrior, this is perfectly natural. There are few outlets for modern man to express our primeval ancient ways so explore, plunder, and conquer . Today is a good day for a raid.

Spalted? New FHC term for me? Nice that she helps. Most of the wood i hoard is "green and clean" when i get it and try to C/S asap. I hate old wood that has been sitting, especially thru Summer.

You have probably seen spalted wood then, when it sits over summer for a while and starts getting the white fungus on it. The wood will have some black lines in it, where it's starting to break down.

Ok, my back still hurts from Mullberry scrounging all last weekend and I have a ton of splitting to do. Unfortunately this pops up on Craigslist which is only 10 miles from my house. Been thinking about it all night...what could he have? Hickory, red and white oak...maybe an Osage.

Go for it...this was about 10-12 miles from us...5 trailer loads so far, probably 1 more to get. I think we have the same problem...lol...

One load of 9'- 10 1/2' smaller logs. Had to weave my way thru the woods with them.
    IMG_20190325_182500699.jpg

Load of 6' logs. Cut most like this. Easier to get up hill and down road to trailer.

contact them, then take a ride cigarsmokingzombie to scout it out. Bring your saw of course. You can always process prior score later. Back pain is the norm if you're a wood hoarder. I developed sciatica in my left leg back in January and it hasnt stopped me.
Sometimes it aggravating when another score pops up just as your done hauling another. The dilemmas of a wood hoarder!

Sweet truck. You may be the first raptor owner to use one to haul wood. ;)
