It ended up getting sunny here today and the temps did get above freezing. Still a nice mild melt with a reading of 37. Tomorrow may be close to 50!
Sunny, but a stiff north wind today. Got into the 30's so not bad out of the wind. 28 now with Oak in the boiler. Upper 40's & sun tomorrow for a couple Sugar Maples that we gotta cut & haul.
Good day for a wintry mix here. Temps flirted with freezing all day, but with the salt left on the roads, they did ok. Starting to stick now, but still warm enough that the melt river continues flowing down the driveway. Soon I'll have the backyard back! Sticking with pine overnight with a stick of oak to hold some coals. Supposed to be sloppy tomorrow - I hope not, because I need some more fuel inside! Might be a raincoat and muck boots sort of job.
34°, blustery, with a spatter of snow on the ground. Maybe this is the last snow. Near 60° tomorrow. I'll probably be babysitting, and I think a walk to the ice cream stand will happen. Today, maybe cut some brush where the new stacks will go, and get the rest of the oak around 5P. I'm going to burn chunks and shorts today, get rid of 'em.
29°F here with a few more inches last night. High today 34°F, burning a hardwood mix. Ice cream sounds good!
23 and 74. Red oak burning, trying the burn up what I have carried up. Still half a tote of ash in the garage. We have been running the furnace lately just to keep steady temps for the baby. Lp heat stinks compared to wood. Supposed to be close to 50 by this evening.
Sitting at -5 c or 23 f this morning, and should see it get somewhere around +5 c or 40 f by this afternoon. I could see a BBQ supper happening this evening.
It was 9 degrees this morning with a few inches of snow on everything. Maple, Cherry, and a little rice coal burning.
Was supposed to get into the teens overnight but did not get that low. Tis okay with me. Sunny today and supposed to be in the 40's and close to 50. Yesterday we took a little ride toward the National Wildlife Refuge. Saw hundreds of swans and geese. Certainly not as much standing water as there usually is.
20 to begin the day. Should get to upper 30's. Clear blue skies but Chaz said the wind makes it a little nasty.
Up to 30... Yards open from 12 inches of wet slop.. Suns out burning cherry and maple... Is Well Seasoned ok he should have gotten close to 2 feet!
52 today! Sure sign of spring, neighbor is digging trenches to drain the water from their yard into ours.... I'm going to become a very unpopular guy is a few short days here!
This thread tends to move fast. I checked in last night & this morning. All is well, got a little over a foot+, wet heavy chit. The winds are really picking up with this cold front. Will be a cold night to sit outside watching the NORTHERN LIGHTS tonight! Good chance anyone north of Boston, upstate NY tonight and the skies are clearing up!
