I ended up with a couple dump truck loads of mostly silver maple, 8"& under (mostly under).

We cut up a couple pickup loads this past fall with the 028 and Husky 55 Rancher. I have a couple Stihl 192TC s I bought for cheap but they need some more work. afleetcommand had one of those little Chinese saws on one of his videos a few weeks ago. Hummmmm....I thought.

Ordered two. I didn't realize they didn't come with a bar and chain. When I did, I went to add them from Hutzl and it was going to be 32.00 with the additional shipping. Yesterday I went to a shop in Middlefield recommended by a member here. After some trial and error, we came up with a solution. I bought two Jonsered bars for 8.00 each. I also had them make up a few Oregon chains.

The bars needed a slight mod to the oil hole in order to work. A 3/16" endmill and about 10 minutes did the trick.

I have to say, chain tension adjustment aside, my first impression is it's a handy little saw. Clutch slipped at first but a little non chlorinated brake cleaner and it's better. Still slips, but will cut fine if not pushed. The largest I cut today was about 6-7" in diameter.

    Pros:

Light...as in, use it all day and not pay a penalty kind of light.

    Starts super easy

    Cheap

I motivates me to dig back into the Stihls, although they aren't as light as this one.

    Cons:

    Cheaply made chain adjuster.

Finding a local bar and chain was not easy.

Seems to transmit a lot of vibration.

Keep in mind, these are INITIAL impressions after using it about an hour. Opinion is subject to change.

I am not in the tree removal business and wouldn't use this if I were. So far, with my limited use, Ill say it's a handy little saw. If it lasts a couple seasons I would be impressed.

Ok, I'll bite, where & how much? That could be a fun little saw.

So does this saw take a proprietary bar?

In the YouTube video afleetcommand used a Husky bar. He didn't mention having to modify it though. That's why I went to a Husky dealer, but the only thing they had in stock that was close was the bar/s I ended up with. I think we tried just about every 10-12" bar they had. I have a Bridgeport so after spending 35-40 mins, I said I'll take the Jonsered bars.

Also, I was farting around with it last night trying to get the adjuster to work better. I didn't think to grab actual pics but this screen shot should get the point across. I hope I'm not over complicating it.

    20190320_065955.jpg

I think the slot in the bar for the bar stud and guide pins (yellow circles) is wider on the Jonsered bar. Since the adjuster is in the clutch cover and the cover fits snug on bar stud and as well as positioned aft (behind centerline, black vertical line) of the bar stud with an unworn chain, I think that extra width is allowing more upward pressure on the adjuster (black clockwise arrows). Maybe, once the adjuster moves forward of the bar stud, it might start exerting down pressure and work better. The worm gears are pretty small and doesn't seem very forgiving in the worky-noworky dept. Let me know if I need to clarify what I'm trying to convey.

I don't think it would be much to add the bar and chain in with the initial order. What drove the price up for me was the shipping on a separate package. Using the proprietary (not sure if it is) bar, might yield better results. I may turn some larger diameter grove studs to see if that helps.

Looks like the bar and chain adds $6.76 to the saw price...and maybe another buck to the shipping?

If I would have realized it wasn't included, that's what I would have done. I had already submitted my order for the powerhead and wanted to add them. Shipping on just the B&C was like 18.00/20.00 plus the item cost. Probably a buck or two if added to the intial order. I figured I'd rather have Oregon or Stihl chain but didn't think finding the correct bar would be such a pain.

That A095 bar is kinda rare and expensive. Too bad they didn't engineer for an A041 on 10 gazillion Poulans.

How much do the EA095 normally go for? He had a few more.

I have to admit that I kinda like the 105cc blue thunder on the link above. A lot of money if it's a pos though.

It does look like a copy of Zenoah copy. Is the Zenoah an original design?

I am less interested since it is a Chinese clone of a Chinese saw. The only thing that is attractive, is the price.

The g2500 zenoah uses the A041 mount.
