Yeah, that is. That's way over payload of what my super crew 150 can take it that was green locust. Now a super duty like in the picture, sure. I'll have to find pictures of "whitey" the 2500 Chevy with the pipe racks as it was a plumbing truck. I loaded that truck with way more wood than the truck in the picture we're talking about.
Nice score. Honey locust is great wood, my patience has worn thin with it though after not letting it season enough. I would say it needs a good 3 years or more. The 2 year stuff I burned this year was ok...but, just ok.
Agree totally with using the trailer, it carries more weight, and you don't have to unload it until you want to... you can just drop the trailer! BUT.. I don't have a truck yet
Not like my "Whitey"? (i kid you not i gave it that nick name when i bought it 17 months ago). Only this is an F150. One of two loads of red maple i scored a few weeks ago and was unable to post pics of at the time.
Here you go guys... Along with the recycling that I need to take to the center that I couldn't today ( had to work until 4:30 and the center courses at 4:30) I got there few rounds that they cut today and that were not grabbed. No trailer today. Lol The trunks are still there, so maybe tomorrow they'll be cut up/ down??
What? Have you no respect for that new truck? Just how long do you think it will last now that you are abusing it by hauling wood around in the back of it? That's one sure fire way to send a truck to its early grave! May as well start looking for a new truck!
Much like that, but I made a corral with tall logs that I stood up, then loaded up the rest. It was packed full in that 8' bed.
Nice score however you get it home Horkn I've only ever owned one brand new vehicle, it was a Chevy S-10, got it home, parked it, then kicked it at the back of the bed. My first (soon to be) wife was all.. "Why did you do that??" I replied, "Now I don't have to worry about the first dent." She still was mad though. Now that I think about it, why the heck should she be mad, she never made one payment on that truck.
When I saw what was left today after whatever work they did today, I knew that there was zero reason to get the trailer. But that 2 minutes I took today will heat my house for at least a day.
Nice haul Horkn , I seldom haul wood in the truck bed. Lacks the room with all the boxes for the saws & gear. By the time I've loaded a 6X12' dump trailer & we've loaded two smaller trailers for my cutting crew we're about done anyway. Just got the hauler out today after work & loaded the saws & gear. They stay in the truck all season. Start it & go.
