Log holder

    Obviously not the most efficient way to cut wood but I hate cutting on the ground. The little log holder works well as long as I don’t abuse it. [​IMG][​IMG][​IMG][​IMG]

    I was looking into one of those, they seem pretty handy.they also make one for the hitch on a truck ( can’t remember the name of that one)

    I have one, actually pretty good for the medium stuff. Especially if the wood is dirty and you need to clean it up first. Just watch the chain skip if its unbalanced, weight the base with a heavy log.

    Reloader any step you can take to avoid bending over when you are in your 60's is a good step to take!

    I thought about buying one of those some time ago but just keep putting it off. Use a horse now and then and sometimes even the pallet forks on the tractor.

    Needs a flat piece of ground to keep it from tipping. As long as I don’t overload it with too long of a log (which at this age is increasingly rare) it isn’t too tippy. The jaw is adjustable and after a short learning curve it is pretty easy to eyeball which size log will work in what position.
