Just how frequent do you get tornados or warnings/watches?

Not often. Last few years have been very tame. Last real big one was a derecho in 1994. That made a mess. Been some tornados east of here over the years. Lake tends to stabilize the air as it comes accross.

Was in Savannah Georgia Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Azalea and dogwoods we're in full bloom. Mid to upper 70s for a high there. Where I live is not much behind that temp wise. Pollen at my office is all over covering the ground. Not quite at my house yet but I am 25 mile's north of the office.

So Rope you are in tok? I’ve been there twice. I used to want to live up there, still would I think. But older & married now so probably won’t happen. Did fly to Fairbanks in September for my birthday. That will tide me over for a while

So, with the warmer temps the last few days, plus some sun, and then a steady rain most of yesterday, we've lost close to a foot of that white stuff.
As usual though this time of year, it's now icy.....which of course we all love. :picard:
Temps will be a bit cooler for 3-4 days, then spring will start giving us warmer temps. Hoping in another week most of the snow will be gone.......I can see some of the logs on the other side of the drive. Itching to go cut those.
Anyway, started a fire this morning for the first time in 3 days, and the Ash is sizzling a bit. 68 IAT, and 36 Out with gradual temp drop throughout the day. Fire tonight for sure.:dex:

Woke up to 55* outside. No fire last night. Actually I woke up once or twice last night sweating. Gotta get acclimated to the warmer temps soon. It's supposed to hit mid to upper 60s here today and then cool back down for the weekend.

I'll start a fire again tonight as it's supposed to go back to the 30s tonight and then 20s for the following few nights in to next week. Spring is getting closer here.

I got a call from my sister who lives in Evansville, IN yesterday and she said they were getting a lot of tornado warnings but everything missed her.

Had 44 this am and going to get into 50's. Was cloudy out on the drive. 44 in Buffalo with pretty good wind. Had trouble getting the Caddy's door open with the wind. Buffalo is about an hour and a half away from home.

30F now. 23F tonight. Seems to be a ways down the road before we are even considering shutting down!

Just got back from Lansing. Guess it got pretty interesting down there last night with lots of hail and high winds along with heavy rain but no tornadoes. The few tornadoes that hit were east of there and fortunately quite a ways SE of us. We got a couple minutes of heavy rain and it was all over here. No high winds although it was pretty breezy for the afternoon.

Today it has been mostly light rain. Trying to turn to snow off and on but nothing sticking. I got up once during the night and everything was white but it melted fast.

So not for the next few days it should be nice for making maple syrup for those who are doing it.

Sandhillbilly What were you doing in Fairbanks? Have I found a new fishing buddy along with a hoarding buddy? This year will be at least my 8th trip to Alaska. Not looking like I will have time to do much visiting this trip.

Ok. I saw 44* today and it is presently 40* and pretty windy. Stove is eating an assortment of >10'' chunks of different species. They are off cuts that I had in a bin in the barn for the last 3 or 4 years. Burning pretty good.

The snowfall may be done. I'm gonna say 8" had to be removed by snowblower and shovel.

Even got the ashes ready to dump from the OWB.

Highways are pretty much clear but the secondary roads are a mess!
