    Had a chance to work on the 7700 today. Pulled the muffler and found this...

    This is the second large Countervibe Poulan that had had crap packed in the muffler. Got a Dayton branded 5200 last year with a bunch of small acorns in it.

    The piston is scored...

    It didn't look too terribly bad, but after 8 pulls it was only at 45 PSI.

    I cleaned it up and the search now begins for rebuild parts.

    I knew it was scored before I got the saw, that is why it was only $25.00. The 6900/7700/8500 series of saws were not produced that long so parts can be challenging.

    By the way, your saw is going out tomorrow. Sent you a PM that I found out it did not have a clutch when I took the bar off, I was able to find one on a junk 3400 here and included it with the saw.

    This is what came out of the Dayton branded 5200. I think the large outlet allows mice to come and go and leave "treasures" behind.
