Yes, they have both the Oregon and the American in Massena, not sure on the price of either, only that the American will run you more, they're a well built unit.
I've been bustin azz working on the side over the last several weeks. It is time! When I get time to go buy one! LOFL Maybe the end of this week I will find the time to go buy one. I will call Massena Store and see what they get for the American they have in stock. I'm afraid to know.
The Wood Chop Shop does the warranty work for the splitters Tractor Supply sells, all I can say is if you look at those splitters check the welds.
Local splitters available that I am considering: Oregon 22 ton Kohler $1499 Oregon 28 ton Kohler $1899 American 24 B & S $2970 DR-RapidFire Subaru $2259
The steel work table adds another $200 to the DR Rapidfire. You would think they would include it at that price!
You keep that wedge nice n pointy and a 22 ton should do a decent job. I think, again if the wedge was sharp, it would go thru this really hard oak I've been splitting with a 27 ton. Good luck. Warning… gonna have a grin that won't go away for a while and everyone will look at you funny…
27 ton Troybilt horiz or vert. Has a nice Honda engine on it. I think Lowes or Home Depot sells em for around $1600-$1800. I bought this a year ahead of when I needed it cause it showed up as a used unit close by. Got it for $800 from a gal who split 2 cords with it and decided that was all of the wood she'd need for the rest of her life… LOL. She bought it new the year before. I couldn't pass it up. Looks new.
I was in the Massena store this morning when a guy called on prices for splitters, it had to be you. That 22 ton will do all the splitting you need.
LOL. I'd like to look at it again before I buy it. Before I just took a quick look at them because I didn't have the money and didn't want to end up buying one with plastic!
Steve told me when you were there you put a deposit down on the 28ton for me. Boy these guys here were right. You really are a great guy woodlands!
Did you ask Steve if they could run it over to the store near you, they're always running between the stores with yard tractors or snowblowers, worth a try. When we bought the American CLS (that company is pricing themselves out of the market) they brought it from one store to the Massena store because it was easier for me.
No. I still haven't made up my mind yet! My wife always makes fun of me when we go out to dinner. I can never decide what to order. What? There are so many good things on the menu I don't know what to get. I just want one of each! (Shhhh. This strategy also gives me time to sit, relax, and drink more beer before we eat. A Ha!)
Ugh! Tough decision I tell ya. Maybe I will just rent one again this year! Kidding! I kid I tells ya!
Ooooo. These would be nice. Iron and Oak 22 Ton Fast Cycle Log Splitter With Log Lift $6,899.99 $6,499.99 On sale! Or one of these! Iron and Oak 30 Ton Log Splitter With Log Lift $7,499.99 $6,899.99 On sale! LOL.
