Hello there all my fellow chainsaw firewood cutting fanatics! Last year we had a firewood cutting day for our Wood Ministry here in southcentral Pa and it was a FANTASTIC day!! We had numerous guys from this page show up from literally all over to help our wood ministry cut firewood. Well, I am seeing if there are those of you who may be interested in doing this again. I was asked by a couple guys to do it again as they wanted to come again to help. So, let me know who is interested in doing this and if enough people are interested we can work on scheduling a day. As before we here will provide the tons of water as well as lunch and dinner if you all want to stay for dinner. The pics are from last years work day!
Looks like it was a great time. If i was closer id say yes. Welcome to the forum! I noticed you joined on my 50th birthday last year!
Believe it or not, there is a guy and his girlfriend that came here last year from Connecticut for our work day and he just messaged me a few days ago and said they are coming again. I think they had a 6.5 hour drive. I was seriously shocked they came that far.
That would be awesome. As soon as I see how many are interested I'm gonna start trying to find a date that will accommodate most.
I will keep that in mind. We have a couple extra here too because another part of our ministry is that if a family has an adult who wants to learn how to cut their own firewood we will teach them. Then when we feel comfortable that they can operate it knowledgeably and safely we give them a chainsaw and now they can cut their own firewood. So far we have given away 4 chainsaws. Give a man a fish feed him for a day, teach him to fish feed him for a lifetime.

I would love to be involved in this at some point. However the spring is no good for me as that is my busy time at work. I can certainly spread the word though! If you ever have an event in the fall I would be more than happy to help out!
I'll try to be there if I can, but I may be tied up with my son's Eagle Scout project. Proud of all involved in events like this one!
Good luck on this John Lawler. It is a good thing you are doing. Please don't make it the first weekend of May as we have many from PA coming to our GTG in MI that weekend, especially several from your area. lol We do wish you good luck on this and thank you for doing it too.
I would love to come cut some wood for such a great cause! I'll be watching to see when a date is sorted.
