Lost a stack during the windstorm last week, it was tipping a little and the wind finished it off... It was about half black locust and half white oak, so I decided instead of restacking it, I'll move it to my undercover area to burn it next year. I hate restacking. We had a nice day yesterday, and I got a little cutting done... Waiting for spring to arrive..! Here what it use to look like in July of 2015. This was taken yesterday... This is what I'm waiting for...
Looks like spring is there. No snow! Fortunately we've lost most of our now. Hard to believe how much melted overnight.
Glad I'm not the only one! I had a stack tip a month or so ago. Said F it, I'll just build a shed first then move it inside rather than restack
Been working on repurposing this catwalk for last couple days at work. It’s off an old gravel screening set up we don’t use any more. I figure it to hold just shy of 2 cords. Last picture shows setting in place on some railroad tie butts. Didn’t know where to post this, but the stacks shouldn’t fall over so I figured it fits here
that mustve been some serious wind. That pile isnt that tall! Its happened to me as well. Stack between two trees and the wind rocks one too much and over it goes! Cool before and after pics of the season change! Bring on Spring!
Always love the picks of your place Fanatical1 your woods look so open and clean. And yes spring is here saw my first redwing blackbird two days ago then 5 the next day.
Baling twine.....you will need to check it from time to time and tighten, but it’s a cheap and viable option I have used for outdoor stacks.
