Got in the woods early this morning before the snow melted. Cut down three dead standing Red Oak. Loaded up two of them and hung up the third. Split and stacked the first two then went back and got the third on the ground for another day. First one down Second one stack for pickup. Third hung up. Got it on the ground. See the red flag someone put them all the way down one of my logging trails about a mile. Why can’t people stay on their own land? Marked up three more dead Red Oaks for future cutting.
Nice looking trees. How did you get the third one dowm? Will you burn those next Winter? It was pretty mild out. I was out chopping/stacking for a couple hours myself.
Looks like a very productive day to this old guy. Nice looking woodlot. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I hate that damm trail tape. Christ some of the woods around here when you go in before light to get to your spot with a headlight it looks like Christmas lights with all the trail tacks!
Move em around a little, makes it interesting LOL. Nice work gboutdoors , looks like a nice day out there!
If you look close at the picture you can see the winch cable as I pulled it down with the tractor. This wood is for year 2022/23 season.
Found him later all the way up to within 150 yards of the house. The yellow dot in the picture is the house. Said he was marking a trail for four wheeling . He didn’t know who owned the land but said it’s just woods right. I told him he was talking to the owner and the payer of the taxes on said woods. I explained that even as the owner I am restricted as to how I use the trails do to the Eastern Box Turtle being on the land. Told him he may walk the trails if he wished but no riding. Then I asked if my posted signs are still up at the town line and he says yes . Part of building on the 23 acres was to put up these signs and maintain then. Also to use only old logging roads , could clean them up but no new ones.
You are more forgiving perhaps than I am as I would have simply kicked his backside off and no way would I offer to let him walk the trails. He would be staying off or else he may not like the outcome. I have little use for people that trespass, especially when signs are up. What the H? "It's just woods, right?" Yes, but not his woods.
Yes Dennis but what I didn’t put in the post was that I even said he could hunt it when he asked about that. Then I said all he had to do was split the taxes with me remove all the red flags and help me maintain the trails. He said I was nuts just the answer I was looking for. I took the flags all down after he walked away mumbling something about me being
