That is because you are in the far eastern edge of the time zone. It is amazing the change we see when we come out your way. It gets lighter way early in the day and dark early at night out there. We're just about an hour's difference from you. I've always thought we should be in the central time zone here.
That would be me, but I still don't like it. Oh, it is fine once you get used to it, but why do it twice every year? Just leave it alone! After all, there are still 24 hours in a day no matter how the clock is set. Or maybe we should also move the calendar every year too?
I reset the stove clock and the clock by the tv this am. I was going to set them last night, but I fell asleep after the Bucks game. That leaves my alarm clock, wristwatch, and the wall clock in the BR to change. My truck and our phones auto update. My wife will reset the clock on the 4runner. Yota sure makes their clocks easy to set. Some car companies sure make that a big chore. I stopped resetting the clock on my Audi a few years ago because you had to break out the manual.
Funny story (to me anyway). So, brother and I were out yesterday for a while in his "new to him" work van and I noticed the time on his clock was "wrong", so I changed it w/o thinking of the other change due today. He watched me, then said it'll need to be changed again tomorrow. I changed it back. His problem now come fall. The laptop and "smart" phone did it w/o my intervention. 3 wall clocks, stove, and mikeywave will need some attention at some point, I suppose.
Come to think of it, I'm on "Dave time", so I don't need to worry about it. My wife will take care of 'em. Maybe.
For the first time since I've met her, 99 waited until this morning to re-set the clocks! Maybe the old girl is slowing down??? Naw!
I wish dst was year round. I hate that there is no daylight when I get home from the paying job. Particularly this last year when dry, outside, working weather has been so rare. If I have an hour or two of daylight to do some physical labor when I get home, everyone in my vicinity is much happier.
You were told that if all leave the clocks alone, there will be no DST. It will disappear. Will all the sheep that changed clocks AHEAD raise your hands ? Knew it. Will all those that did the right thing and know how to subtract an hour from DST raise the hand ....again ?
It's got nothing to do with being sheep. It's called following the norms that are set. If these norms are changed, we'll conform. When your work needs you there from say 8 am-5pm. You kind of need to be there at that time, not an hour ahead or behind. If you are retired, do what you please.
