Before I can access my splitting and stacking area. Mother nature is working on it today with some rain. Hoping by the end of the week much of this will be gone.
Looks just like a lot of my stacks on the in-laws farm in NW Iowa. Going to be awhile before I’ll be able to get at them. Feel bad for the farmers, going to be a long time till they can get in the fields!
That's one thing we did not have lot of this year. My neighborhood has a warm up and some rain. Might slow my cutting and hauling.
You never know. We had piles last spring also. It came around faster than I had figured. Then it went to twice a week lawn mowing here just to keep up Crazy weather.
Good point! plus we had a crazy April snow snow storm last year! I like your optimism! There’s still a chance we will see spring this year!
We have lots of snow on the ground and it is snowing as I type. Should be warming up over the next few days and that should help with the snow. There is already talk about a good chance of significant flooding this spring. When are you headed out on your trip?
We're above average snowfall this winter too, but it kept warming up & melting. Only got maybe 7" left now. Soft ground put a hurting on my logging operations this winter. I'm gonna be playing catch up. Hoping for a dry spring.
I’m sure SD will be plenty warm this summer! When you coming? What’s your biking path? Let me know if your in my neck of the plains! We only have 2 seasons in SD winter and road construction! If we don’t like the weather we just wait awhile!
Don't know about your area but here the ground is pretty well saturated so unless we have a dry spring, it could be interesting getting on the fields and getting in the woods.
I'll P.M. you in a couple of weeks with some info. You could be a valuable source of information. Still working on the route. Trying to figure the best way from Rapid City to either Spear Fish or Deadwood. Once we hit Deadwood we take the Mickelson to its terminus then head back to Rapid City...if it don't snow... or a bear don't make a snack out of us!
Was listening to the game and fish department radio show. The above average snow and the extreme cold we had built up a deep ice level on the lakes here and they are really getting concerned about all the lakes that may have winter killed. Ironic that we will fill the lakes up with all the snow melt but the snow may have killed them.
