Hi all, brand new to the forum and the hoarding life. 25 years old and bought a house about 4 months ago. Looking forward to throwing a wood stove into the fireplace before next fall to keep the house warm.

Live in a relatively suburban area in southern CT so I get what I can from CL ads and what I drive by in my daily travels working as a construction inspector. I've CSS about 1.5 cords in the last few weeks since I've started, almost entirely sugar maple.

Husqvarna 440, Fiskars Isocore 8# maul, cheap Husky axe, and a grenade wedge.

Here to absorb as much as I can from all you hoarders!

Welcome NBNH! You have found the right place! I'm hand splitting some sugar maple myself these days, and I'm convinced it splits the best when frozen. There's quite a few other Connecticut folks here too. Post up some pics of your stacks, tools, pets, etc. when you can.

Welcome to the club NBNH :handshake: There is plenty of knowledge here to absorb! You're already off to a great start by working on getting a good supply of dry firewood.

Hi NBMH. You get a score, take pics and share. Feel free to ask questions. Other than pics of tools, and wood, we like to see pics of the family

New to posting to the forum. Been lurking for a while. I live outside of Philadelphia. Have a wood burning fireplace, maybe 2 cords a year. I've split hundreds of cords though. I was in the tree care industry for over 10 years, still split wood at current job, and at my house. Used mauls, axes, didier splitters, big box splitters, and Timberwolf tw5 and tw6. Currently own a Troybilt 25 ton found on used craigslist. Run saws from a 12" Homelite lx30 bandit up to a ms880 with a 60" bar. Usually use an Echo 303t and a Dolmar ps6000i. (Have about a dozen though). As my username may hint, I love Jeeps. I have owned at least 20 , mostly CJ7's and 8's. Currently only have a CJ8.
