we had single digits three days this week. i think that was the last blast of winter for this year. gonna be in the 50 next week...finally.
Our snow's about gone here in town, but, up in the hill's a totally different story, loggers are still snowed out. One guy told me they started up the hill in the shovel and it started sliding backwards, tried it 2 times finally the shovel operator said, no way. Down her, the grass in the front yard is looking like it needs a haircut. Boy its really starting to perk up. Was looking at it yesterday and it must be 4'' high. If it warms up much it'll blow it out of the ground, in fact i'm going to see if i can get the old mower running, and be ready for the first sunny day to take care of it.
Well, around here the highways are bare..... is that a sign of spring? Secondary roads are still covered/packed but plowed.
Weve had January like temps and the most snow of the Winter round these parts in the past week. Bring on Spring!
I can see the top 5" of the stake holding up one of the Walnut saplings. About 3 days ago, all I could see was less than an inch. Even without warmer temps, the sun is having an effect. It'll be another couple minutes before we see much bare ground. Pretty close to 3' of snow in some spots.
I am quite confident this is the same group of people last November grumbling about it being warm, mowing the yard, not burning wood, etc, etc, etc,.
