It's opening weekend but hopefully is cold enough that I don't sit in line for every coaster. My 10 year old niece said she would ride one with me. She's never been on a big coaster yet. My dad broke me in on a 127 foot wooden coaster when I was 5. Once I stopped whimpering, I actually didn't mind it so much. There will be a lot of time taking my 2.5 year old on the kiddie rides. Not so bad when you factor in the good times she'll be having and the memories made. Taking a home equity line of credit, so we can afford some overpriced snacks / food.
We took my ten and seven year olds last year, they are still talking about it. I hope you guys have a great time! The Batman is awesome btw!!!
They are opening a wooden coaster this year called Goliath. Sets some records for height and speed. Best coaster I was ever on was Millenium Force at Cedar Point. 300 feet and 90 mph and smooth as silk. That was a thrill.
You have to exercise some judgment or you go broke at those places. A popcorn and a drink at a movie theater these days costs about half a year's pay.
I have reverse engineered movie theater popcorn and found the ingredients available on the internet. You can make some really good popcorn at home if you have all the right oils, flavorings, and a butter flavored salt called Flavacol.
Best coaster I have been on is the Aerosmith one at Disney. Can't go wrong with the music or the ride!
Superman at Six Flags new England has been my favorite so far. Love the steel coasters..these 51 year old bones dont care for the wooden ones much anymore.
I rode a wooden coaster today that jarred me pretty good. A lot of dips and negative 'g' forces. The coasters do lose some charm with age. I think your body can't take the stress.
Actually, its the dips and negative g's that I like, its the constant rattling while doing that that gets me. Although I have the built in forgetter that still makes me try a wooden coaster every so often. Did you guys have a good time? How were the lines for the better rides?
I'm not sure I could do a roller coaster anymore. Rode several years ago and I didn't much like negative g then. After I fell and broke my back a few years ago I have a real hard time with any "free fall" feeling. I've actually thrown out my back while sleeping when I had dreams of falling. Hard to explain I guess but it felt so real. I've woken up screaming and had the bed nearly flipped over (trying to hold on I guess) I REALLY don't look forward to getting old. I already feel it pretty bad and I'm not all that old... I know several on here have kids older than me.
Um, my youngest will be 32 in a few days. No rolly coasters for me. Never have liked 'em. So, how was the trip? I hope you had fun.
Not too bad. Took my niece on a couple of big coasters for her maiden run. She was very brave even though I knew she was afraid. The lines were what they are and the food was outrageous, but still good.

I have NO idea how that posted twice nearly 12 hrs apart?! PapaDave, your youngest is a year older than me. My folks are in their 50s.
