    Dead persimmon, dry as a bone! It’s on the creek bank so it’ll be a pain loading but will be well worth it

    Weeds. Grass is starting to come out some though. This 24 coming the next few nights will stunt that some though

    How does it split and burn? Dont think we have it in Southern NE.

    Splits good and burns phenomenal. It’s way up there on the charts. Similar to hickory. About the only thing higher is Osage orange

    Nice score! Persimmon is probably one of the least known about trees when it comes to firewood. They're neat trees to find in your woods, the wood itself is interesting, and they blow away oak, sugar maple, Ash, and the usual top contenders when it comes to BTU output. I treasure this stuff whenever I'm lucky enough to come across one that's fell over or freshly dead.
