Light snow started late last night and I awoke to about 2" this morning. Still snowing, but due to stop about 10.
Warmer temps on the way in about a week, and if the forecast is right, those should keep getting warmer. Early to mid-March can hit pretty hard though. Yesterday was 32 and sunny all day.
We had some melting, but this poor patio chair didn't get any of that. That's at one of the far corners of the patio slab.
The plan was to keep that shoveled, but...........uh, no.

Looked at the temp an hour ago and it showed a balmy 15! Nice!

Now that is an interesting thought! Brings to mind when my son went to Australia then back to the states then on to Argentina then back to the states. I ask what the weather was like and he just said, "All kinds."

Beautiful sunny morning here in NW suburbs of MPLS. Heading for -10f or colder overnight. I plan to keep a fire going all day for our afternoon and evening at home tomorrow after church. I am burning a lot of black ash and poplar mix right now, with the odd piece of paper birch and sugar maple here and there. One thing for sure is that our home stash is getting down there with highs finally predicted in the low to mid thirties by the 13th.

Temperature dropped to barely below freezing, I think 28 was the lowest. Just a light covering of snow. Warm outside at 30. Naturally, cloudy as it usually is in MI. I hear lots of complaining about all the cloudy and must admit that I enjoy some sunshine too but the clouds can also be a blessing in that they keep the temperature from dropping too low.

That seems to be my go to move in winter except mine is a computer chair. Not the most comfy thing for naps.

was in the 40's earlier so i got a quick hot fire going of cedar and poplar to knock the chill out. It's about 55 right now with storms and a cold front on the way. Should be burning 24/7 for about 4 days starting tomorrow night. Forecast highs this week in the upper 30's to low 40's and overnight lows in the low to upper 20's. I'll be burning cherry, ash and oak.

hovlandhomestead We have 2 sons and families living in your neck of the woods, one in Crystal and the other in Brooklyn Park. I am guessing they are dealing with snow like you are. We don't have as much as you do, only 20 or so inches on the ground.

Erik B. Yes, but even 20" is a good amount many years.

Our daughter and son-in-law just bought their first home in Crystal...nice communities here in NW metro.

Didn't I meet you at Walt's last October? I have a memory of being introduced to you, but it must have been someone else.
