I don’t have that issue Pete, we buy a card every month. You can set up 6 month or year payment I think. Maybe that’s what can snag you in terms of overages. I don’t stream from the phone, or if so I’m on WiFi.... we still listen to the radio when we travel or even if I have to simply ride up to the store.
Nothin' wrong with OFs. You'll be one at some point. I no longer even listen to the radio. Too much crap, and commercials trying to tell me I NEED to buy something. I'm WAAAAAAY past that stage. Sorry for the rant.....back to the biz at hand.
Better yet.....don't even turn on the radidio, dadio. I'd be adjusting the volume every couple minutes.......uh, no thanks.
Worked with a guy back in the late 90's that I told "man, you're in your own little world" .....to which he replied, "it's ok, they know me here".
Pallet Pete ive used Straittalk for ~9 years never had a problem with them, data plan and limits have improved over last 2-3 years. I used to hit the data limit a couple times per year when I watched a bunch of Netflix or YouTube, would always be the last few days of the contract no extra charges ever just severely throttled you speed. Wife has the unlimited plan even with live streaming on face book for her work and the kids watching YouTube almost everyday she has never had any problems or limits. Side note you can run either Verizon or AT&T towers but not both, west of the Mississippi River the Verizon coverage is consistently better! Ps you might look at Visible it’s a new prepaid plan Verizon is putting out. Pps I did have one problem straight talk refused to unlock an iPhone for me, after contacting the state attorney generals office they were all “yes sir, yes sir, absolutely sir, glad to help you sir!”
Thank for the input folks! I just reread the thread I appreciate it very much. I do apologize if my post came of as rude it was not intended that way at all.... I tend to go overboard with research I read it again and it came off a little rude..... Again NOT intended.
I love radio BUT traveling means channel switching which drives me nuts. Streaming radio solves that problem set it and forget it. It also means access to 1000’s of stations available. As for commercials nothing I can do so I have a ignore feature developed over time. Literally pay no attention to them that sorta works kind some of the time.
I just really dislike the "in your face all the dang time" aspect of it all. Stopped for some gas in town yesterday and the BP now has (had for a while) little screens and ads BLARING at whoever is there. Nope, just nope. I may have yelled at the screen.............
Ya those are really annoying! Almost everyone around here except she’ll has them now and they are loud.... I go to shell because they don’t and I told them that. If they get them I’ll fimd somewhere else...
That could have been their phone(s) too. All the carriers have built out different areas with varying focus/reliance on different bands because of resource changes/upgrades over time. Even some brandy new phones can be missing a band that isn't being used any more except for by one carrier in a small area that hasn't been upgraded yet and you have some unhappy campers on slow low coverage/frequency back-up bands.
