....been reading reviews and about different mods, I pulled the trigger. And man, what a cool little saw!!

I've owned a CS-355T for almost 4 years and it's been a fantastic saw, worth every penny. I've climbed a TON of trees with that saw and carved a lot of wooden pumpkins with it, and I've never even touched the tuning screws on it......not once!!

    20190222_164635.jpg

This new 2511T came equipped standard with a 12" bar setup with 3/8" - .050 low pro chain.

I haven't ran it in any wood yet, it's not tuned right from the factory, so I plan on popping the limiter caps out this evening and adjusting it, and I'll run it some with the lo-pro 3/8" setup before I do the muffler mod and 1/4" 14" Rollomatic dime-tip bar and drive conversion. I still have to order the 1/4 sprocket.

I'm also gonna check the squish and see if I have enough room at TDC to do a base gasket delete as well as match-port and such.....I just can't leave stuff alone!

Here's some more pics of the little bugger. I have my old Stihl 019T sitting on the bench beside it for a size comparison. The 2511 is almost half the size of rhe 019T! And it weighs right around 5lbs (powerhead only) which makes it the lightest chainsaw sold in North America. I can't wait to use it up in the tree!!

I can almost grip the saw like a football, it's that small and light!!

I know Barcroftb has one, how do you like yours so far, Brad?

I just picked up this Stihl MS660 last week, complete with a nice 25" bar and good chisel chain. It was a deal that I couldn't pass up! It's all O.E.M except the top plastics, has 158psi compression. And it's in great shape.

Already put a big west coast clutch cover and our big tool steel spikes on it, waiting on my new HD filter assy to come in the mail now.....

Those 2 saws are pretty far apart on the size and C.C spectrum:yes:

Now I want one! Don't necessarily need one, but that's besides the point. Interesting choice for a two saw plan Scotty Overkill.:dex:

That would be a nice saw to keep in the glove box of the truck. Just in case.

RCPW got me a couple weeks ago...they put up a nice low hour MS290 for $75 on local CL ad...supposedly was straight gassed...got it home and it fired right up, and it had good compression too! It did quit after 5 minutes though...turned out the coil was bad! So all in, I now have a nice low hour MS290 for $98. :D
And it does have a bit of light scoring...but its not affecting the compression one bit! Mind over matter...I don't mind, so it don't matter! :dex:
The only thing bad was that this transaction triggered the "so just exactly how many saws do you have" question from the wife...for the first time ever :emb: I was honest...told her I dunno...cuz I don't! :picard::whistle:

That’s a great deal on the 290. Mine is my go to saw until I get either a 261 or 362 (or both).

Unfortunately, this new acquisition doesn’t fit in with the rest of the family. Got a craftsman, j’red and s small Husky too.

The answer I will give my wife if she asks that question will be “almost enough saws to ensure a warm house in the winter for years to come.” At least the saw was cheaper than my recent Girl Scout cookie purchase. :makeitrain"

That is the combo we have, 029 with 12" bow/20" bar and 362 with 25" bar.
