So after using my winch for the first time last weekend, i had a bunch of wood to cut up and split. Got a little work done on what i think was a box elder and a sugar maple. Weather turned nice after some wind early on. Now just have to haul it out of the woods! Used the 441 and 361 today. A couple good piles! My inspector was chewing on sticks today and wasnt doing a good job inspecting.
Nice pics Spencer and nice job. The inspector had it all under control...you do your job, he’ll/she’ll do theirs
That is pretty cool hauling your splitter in connected to your tractor. That is convenient. Then stack in the loader and haul it out.
Love the looks of your wood lot Spencer. Looks like you worked the dog too much! Tuckered that poor dog right out.
That's a great set up you have there. Pulling the splitter right up to the pile of rounds is definitely the way to go.
Yep you got it. Has a pto pump, its a prince pump. I love that thing. No two stages, just powers right thru at the same speed no matter what. What i like the most is that the engine is much quieter than a air cooled motor you would find on a typical splitter. I can have a conversation while i run it, have my daughter around helping without hearing protection. I run the tractor at 2000 rpm usually.
Thanks! It has quite a few mature trees on it, not very much underbrush as you can see. Edit: if anybody wants to see the winch that was used to pull these logs out of the valleys in the pics, see this thread: Tractor 3pt Winch
