35*....calm.....very foggy....trees are full of ice.....hope it gets into 50s to melt that chit off before the winds hit or itll be a lot worse....
Blowing pretty good here. Power outages are being reported two roads over. Won't be turned on or rerouted til winds die down. Thinking about taking a drive around on the quad to see what has been blown into the fields. Staying out of the woods for now. Might hook the PTO genny up, you know... "take one for the team" so there is almost a guarantee there won't be an outage here.
Pulled out the genny and have it running now, no sense in waiting till the last minute. Got a call from a buddy, he purchased the same genny today.
Just a small shot of gas to get her running. It just died as I typed this. Won't break my heart if it misses us.
Praying for yall in the windy conditions. We didn't have it to bad where we live, but north west GA is flooding, had tornadoes in Mississippi and Alabama. Hope our members in those states are ok. rebelduckman, basod ,woodeye ,JC@ATL

here in the Augusta Me. area: * Winds...West 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. * Timing...Monday into Monday evening. * Impacts...Strong winds may down trees and tree branches and power lines, leading to power outages. I don't know why, but we are always one of the areas to report the highest winds and gusts. After an education of having trees fall dangerously around my house, I had a bunch of them removed. Bout time to be doing it again. Both me and the trees got old and more round and less sturdy.
sounds good. i know some people that had problems running tv's and puters with a generator. i think i read 1 person fried the brain in his fridge. you know more about that stuff than i do.
If you try to draw too much...you basically have a brown out...listen to your generator..it will tell you when you are drawin too much...plus..when we put an amp meter on the generator line to see what that the total amps were...we were several amps under with a total draw with everything runnin at once... One thing ill do this week n that is im goin to drive a copper ground rod in about 6' n be able to ground generator with #6 copper wire..
Been howling here since about 9:00 AM. Getting stronger now 30-45 MPH reported. One gust 60+ at the lake shore. Some trees down & quite a few power outages, but small & spread out. We're well protected from the West so I'm only showing 15 to 20 MPH max on my gauge. No trees down here so far. Genny is ready.
