That brings back a memory... We use to know a older gentleman, when i was just out of high school. Got his number from another fisherman. Went to his house to check out what rods he had and get some fishing poles made. This guy had a glass eye in one eye and his other didn't look like it could see very well. Thusly we made that same comment. But dang that guy could make a absolutely beautiful fishing pole.... and for a very reasonable price.... I think over the next few years we bought like 12 poles from him. Then he passed away... But he was a cool old guy...

I've seen a whole lot more gm pickups with rusted/ bent frames where the bed touches the cab than the very few Ford's I've seen like this.

Super flipping windy out now. About 7am today the winds just kicked up and they've been howling ever since.

Pie charts? I don't recall any pie charts in my test - must have different/random versions.

I didn't take the color test because I've read bad things about those type of things on the Internet so I just shy away from them. I have friend who constantly does that sort of thing and then has someone clean out his computer about every other month...

Wind howling in the treetops. It seemed to let up for a while but is back again. It is stronger as you go south of us. I see gusting to 49 mph in Lansing.

Temperature has dropped 9 degrees since 8:00.

Clear, sunny and cold here this morning. No wind so far. Our walk was just lovely. We went a little later than usual so it was light out by the time we got back. Staying home today to watch curling championships. First game over - then next in three hours. Well fought game.

Down here also. I'm very glad all the rain we got yesterday didn't freeze up on the trees. That would be a huge mess around here.

    "Taxpayer"

    "Mr. John Q. Taxpayer,
I don't know if you realize the sacrifice you make?
And I'd like to take my time, sir, to offer you my thanks.
It's really the least I can do,
since I have all day to get to,
My to do list and that's all thanks to you,
    Mr. John Q. Taxpayer.

You get up at quarter to 4,
It's not long before you're out through the door.
Pack a lunch, but not too much.
You had to get store brand so you could afford enough.
Watching the flyers like you must, sounds like it's a little rough,
But me and my food stamps wouldn't know, and I'd like to thank you,
    Mr. John Q. Taxpayer.

Have a nice drive to town,
I hope your car doesn't break down.
I know you put on a lot of miles going to the salt mine.
You could have bought something new,
If they didn't take a dollar for your every 2,
But I guess that's all you can do,
And I'd like to thank you,
    Mr. John Q. Taxpayer.

Watch out for moose or deer,
Such collisions can be rather severe,
If you can't work you can't pay for my beer,
So you must understand my fear,
Peel your eyes and open your ears,
Oh, and I know you do,
And I'd like to thank you,
    Mr. John Q. Taxpayer.

work hard, try to impress the boss.
2 others were already laid off.
If they like you, they'll hesitate to let you go.
It must be hard, seem rather unfair,
Not knowing if your job will always be there,
But my income will never change, and that's good to know.
And I don't even have to get out of bed till after 2,
And I'd like to thank you,
    Mr John Q. Taxpayer.

yes, 6 AM to 5 O'clock in the afternoon,
A Paid holiday once in a blue moon,
You work so hard to keep the household barely in the black.
I'll never be in the red, and all because I spend all day in bed,
They won't let that happen to me,
Because you make $150 and take home 83,
And I'd like to thank you,
    Mr John Q. Taxpayer.

When you finally get to your house,
It reminds you what the work is about,
Got a roof over your head,
A warm bedroom for your kids,
200K later you've got something to show for your labor,
And from my free apartment, I'd like to thank you,
    Mr John Q. Taxpayer.

Well now that I've finished my breakfast and you're finally home,
I have a note I'd appreciate you passing along.
I know you're tired and ready for bed,
But I beg you not to forget,
As you question the meaning of life,
Please make sure this gets to your wife.....

'Your husband pays for my stuff,
And you pay for my wife's.
And I'd like to thank you,
Cause she's the love of my life.
We can't bear to be apart,
Like if we worked all day,
And the more babies we make,
    The more the gubment pays.
You take 2 kids to daycare,
it costs half of what you have,
But we got 17, she's a Stay at home mom,
I'm a stay at home dad.
If you need a pill to ease the stress,
Guess I owe you one or three,
Since I get a big Ole bag for free,
And I'd like to thank you,
    Mrs Jane Q. Taxpayer.'

    And tell your supervisor,
the one who makes a grand a week,
    Thanks for all the cigarettes,
I know that they ain't cheap.
I save some cash rolling my own, and spend what I save on more,
You can smell the fine aroma bout 20 feet from my door.

Yes, I can watch TV 8 hours, instead of lifting a pound.
And I can buy whatever I want, with folks like you around.
You keep working overtime, to avoid financial distress,
And all that's on my resume, is my name and my address.
I guess I should give an honorable mention to uncle Sam,
You provide the funds, but he forces your hand.
My life is one of luxury, and I barely leave my couch,
The bank has claimed your paycheck before you put it in your pouch,
And I'd like to thank you,
    Mr John Q. Taxpayer."

The plow came by early this morning just to open the road and then that was it for the day. I waited all day and then went out for an hour and a half working on the driveway and path. For over half of the time that I was running the snowblower, the snow was higher then the impeller frame and I had to do at least a double pass to get things clear. The wind is the only thing that kept the snow level lower than the auger frame but only in here and there areas. Even then. it was easily 12-14" high!

I was wishing for that larger ariens that we passed up on this time!

Also got the ashes emptied from the OWB.

Honestly, I don't know which was worse....snowblowing or hauling ashes! Both of them created "shut your eyes tight and wait till it passes" conditions!

Its still snowing and blowing, I just wanted to get ahead of the game as I have an appointment tomorrow a.m. that I just may try to keep.

NortheastAl , are you all hunkered down for the wind?

yooperdave , WWW used ski goggles for splitting wood 2014/2015, the winds were really bad and there was dirt/sand/icy snow from the ground blowing horizontally if that might help you out. And what appt tomorrow?
