Weve warmed up for a day or two. Were sitting at -7c/19f in the sun and I like it. Its supposed to drop down below -20c/-4f but I hope we dont see any -30c like what youre getting. I wonder if you will just all of a sudden have a shift in the weather and that will be the end of it? I hear many regions including mine are supposed to be colder than normal for March. I guess only time will tell. Hows the wood supply?

Hard to say what our weather is ever going to do, as the weather guessers can't seem to predict 3 days ahead with any accuracy. Stove has been eating as much wood as it can without chucking the coals out. I'm not the best at math, but think you can push upwards of 1 1/4 cord through this stove a month. Not bad for a small stove! I have a 1'x8' foot row and an 8'x8' row in the shed, and then about 1/2-3/4 cord of rougher stuff that I can feed the reactor yet. Should be enough to carry us through and even if not, we saved so furnace oil this year, we could run the furnace as primary for a month no problem.

Buckling down for another rough few days. Gee whiz! This time we are blessed with a shot of rain first, .5-1.0 inches expected. Then freezing rain. Yipeee. Then another 3-6 inches of snow. With winds in the neighborhood of 50 mph. Bring on summer:picard:The wood supply indoors is enough for a couple weeks.

25 here, ash and Sugar maple coals dying down. More of the same ready for overnight. The ash came from power line clearing a couple years back, and the sugar came from the neighbor's buddy around the same time. More power line clearing he tipped me off to. I don't know if knowing that qualifies me for an extra level of wood-geek, but I'll take the label if needed. :)

Going to cut down some longs into shorts that will fit In the stove tomorrow, and get another week's worth brought in.

Another nice Alaskan dream of a day. Bluebird day, cut 4 birch and bucked after work and brought the smallest one home. Had a spectacular sunset for the ride home. The 461 with square grind chain eats the frozen birch like it nothing. Snow is mid thiegh deep, a lighter saw would be nice to carry but the 461 makes quick work of it. 1DF255BE-457B-47C7-91A1-477C495CB6BD.jpeg 38907553-9F37-4A33-908C-A871A95DDE2E.jpeg 717FFA8D-23B4-4375-9B11-9173B326782D.jpeg AF5C86F5-61B8-4123-A41B-3F82B3AC1B5B.jpeg B8A6EAAE-B4CB-40A4-9213-F7D6F722013C.jpeg 8C6ED5B5-ECBA-47A7-B2CC-B13C521D132C.jpeg F5040BB0-EB55-450D-9ED1-58BF351CC0AF.jpeg 0BD61835-18CD-4A92-8FF7-6621ADDCA7B5.png 999B3F79-B9E6-400D-ABAB-8425DCEB0412.jpeg E0251AF8-55CB-44E9-A352-E0E878D7A85A.jpeg

Rope goin all in eh? Well done there! A cold but great place to live it seems.

Sometimes it feels pathetic to post temperatures while some of you`re living in the artic, temporary though.

    Outside: 35.6°F/2°C - Inside: 68°F/20°C

You've got quite a village going there! If it's near a road, I bet people snap pictures of it. You might see them in your local newspaper!

19 here, 76 inside still on coals. Another nice day in the 30’s today. We almost hit 40 yesterday! Big mess tomorrow, but we’ll enjoy today first.
We’re getting together for my grandsons second birthday, which is actually Monday. We’re very blessed he’s so healthy and happy after starting out 7 weeks early. It was touch and go for awhile but the good Lord blessed us all. He’s such a treasure! Enjoy the weekend everyone!
