I see a lot of people on here talking about felling and issues etc. this little ash is right outside my window, so I thought I wood quiz the group to see what response I get. The camera is level, so the ground is slopes toward you, more to the right than at you for point of reference. I may use this advice vs my plan, so please do not try to kill me
Woodsnwoods Pulling off the top bit would be my option but again without seeing it with my own eyes makes its difficult. (And by pulling i mean with a Truck/Tractor and a steelwire or something like that) Its rather smart to give someone else an advise without making a proper assessment of the situation beeing 1000 of miles away. *Edit
Always hard to tell with pics, but i think i would just wedge one side of it and pull it down with your winch. It doesnt look that big, but always hard to tell.
Use a snatch block attached to another tree in the direction you want. Make your cuts and then pull it over.
I'm missing something..... how big is the tree ? It looks small to me. If it's only 10" or so and the crack has a hinge in tact I personally would just cut it the way it wants to go and keep looking up.
Screwloose wins.....at least that is my plan. It’s a sapling in my world, but the same theory applies to much larger trees with the same issue
