So, they like to stand at the new patio door and watch for bunnies, but they got a nice surprise this morning....4 deer in the path I keep cleared on the west side of the property. They look pretty healthy. Sorry for the grainy pic, but I had to take it through the glass.
Our friends recently moved near some conservation land and they saw over 20 deer in the field next door. There was about 15 at the farm field near where we are hopefully moving to. I have to really consider what to plant for shrubs and such as they will devastate plantungs. I also wonder if they herd up for safety from coyotes that are increasing in population.
They're still hangin' around, and getting closer to the house. I have to pay attention when taking the pups out to make sure the deer aren't close.
It's nice to see they look pretty healthy. I think the neighbor and her mom down the road put out feed, so they're making the rounds. They stood out at the end of the drive yesterday looking toward the house for about 5 minutes. Thought for sure they were gonna' come up and knock on the door.
That's how they are here. Our dogs gave up barking at the deer family of 4 he have. They hang out all day in our yard, and the adjoining neighbors yards. The deer don't even bother to get up from laying down when our first are outside, because the deer know we won't let the dogs pester them. The deer family we have are in great health, no idea what would contribute to that.
Lady our Sheppard won't chase deer, but does get frustrated when they come into the front yard 30 feet from Windows.. She barks at them.. They ignore her.
